Replaced my old moldy one
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Got this to replace the identical bite valve on my platypus which grew mold after just two years of service. I haven't seen other brands of bite valve grow mold (I've seen other tubes get moldy, but not the valves themselves), so I'm somewhat disappointed. But it is nice that it's possible to replace them. I might try a different brand of valve next time if it gets mold again. I do like how this one doesn't have an open/close switch that needs to be fiddled with.
Happy to have a new Valve!

My old valve was yellowing and just plain gross. Happy I can just replace the part. Seems to be leak free so I’m happy!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
There's not much to say about a bite valve, but this one works great. Nice flow rate, and I really like the material this valve is made of. It gives it a nice feel. I would buy a shutoff valve with it, so you don't waste water by having this get pinched in a shoulder strap or anything. Only downside to it is that the silicone is a little tacky and will hold dirt.
May or may not be compatible
I got this to replace the valve that my dog chewed up on my Coleman-brand small day pack. It is too big for the Coleman hose but I jimmy-rigged it with part of the original bitevalve and made it work and so far its done great. I love the valve itself. On the product description, it listed some brands that it was and wasn't compatible with but Coleman wasn't one of them.
I would recommend using it with the cap/cover because dirt/sand stuck to it every time I set my pack down.
My original bite valve leaked most of it's life, so I was sceptical about replacing it with the same style. After I made the switch all I could think was why did I wait so long..!! It was a snap to switch out (took longer to pull the old one off than to put the new one on), and it doesn't leak..!! I've tried bite valves with a shut-off valves and they work, but I'm too lazy to turn a valave on and off for every drink. A bite valve is the right fit for me.
Would it to a tube with inner diameterof 0.7 c m ?
Hey Joanna - This Hyperflow Bite Valve should work with your bladder tube that is 0.7 cm. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

will this platypus bite valve work on a intersept akwapac
I couldn't find any info on the akwapac, but this bite valve fits most hydration systems. If your drinking line is a 1/4" tube, it should work. I would get the shut off valve too.

Sorry, I didn't mean directly to the filter. I meant is it possible to attach it to the "Clean" reservoir tube to use as a hydration bladder?
you should be able to attach this to the end, but I could not imagine trying to suck water through the filter, especially if it is not above your head
Will this valve fit the High Sierra hydration...
Will this valve fit the High Sierra hydration pack from Costco:?
Like alan said below it does fit many different models it just depends if the hose is the same diameter as the regular platypus hose. I beleive it does.
Will this fit on any hydration system hose...
Will this fit on any hydration system hose or only Platypus brand?
tweak: the real question is.. is a platypus hose a different size than a camelbak hose or a nalgene hose or do all the companies use a standard size hose for their hydration systems? saying it was designed only to work on a Platypus hose doesn't mean it can't work on another hose, we just need to know the hose size, right?
I would only recommend it for a Platypus hydration system. It was designed and manufactured primarily to work only on Platypus hoses. If it is bought to be retrofitted to any other hose, you will be taking a chance of it not working.
I have swapped these onto many different types of hoses - it works with all I have tried - outdoor products, camelbak for sure. The connection size seems to be the same as on the camelbak big bite valve and both are very stretchy (without affecting the bite valve seal).
The hoses from different manufactures are not exactly the same size - but are close - the materials vary, the inside & outside diameters vary (seperately). However they all seem close enough that most items are interchangeable between brands. I use Camelbak 90degree flow valves on Platypus hoses with platypus ergo angles & camelbak big bite valves. The only issues are with some of the Quick connects on the barb side - (quick connect sides are interchangeable) the camelbak ones are too small to be a really tight fit for the outdoor products and some Playpus hoses (kind of fits...). However you can use a 1/2" PVC tube to boost it up to a tight fit. I use generic quick fit fittings instead with a 3/8" barb - these work well on all types.
BTW I always carry an nylon inline 3/8" dual barb adapter - quick cheap repair in case of hose damage (Ace hardware...). As a Scoutmaster I also always carry a spare bite valve - one of the blighters invariably chews on his so much that it starts to leak continuously... These are the ones I carry as (very good) generic replacements...
