    Tikka Headlamp

From skinning up a powdery peak before sunrise to pitching a tent after sunset, the Petzl Tikka Headlamp casts broad illumination from a lightweight, easy-carrying design. The Tikka Headlamp projects 200 lumens at full blast, lasting 60 hours for dependable illumination when you're far from the comforts of civilization. Proximity, mid-range, and full-blast lighting provide versatility for hiking, alpine navigation, and climbing pursuits.

Red proximity lighting saves your eyes from fatigue when you're reading maps at night, also preventing you from blinding hiking and adventure companions. For emergency scenarios, the red strobe is visible to rescue personnel 700 meters away. And just in case it falls from your pack or pocket, the phosphorescent reflector makes it easy to spot after dark.

    Solid for the price

Great headlamp. I took this with me on my bouldering trip to joes valley area. It was great to use while inside the tent and when I needed to wander outside a bit. Fit feels very comfortable and super easy to use!

      Best Bang for your buck

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Standard headlamp, but definitly one of the brightest and most durable for the price point! Love the red light, and varying settings. Battery life is great, and I love the ability to add the rechargeable core. Can't beat the weight at 3oz. Go get 'em dirtbags!

      Simple. Dependable.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Simple headlamp. Lightweight, so you'll actually want to bring it along. Dependable. The Tikka line of headlamps have been my go to for close to 20 years now. Look no further.

      Great Simple Headlamp!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just needed a good simple headlamp to replace the one I lost (where do all my headlamps run off to?). This is perfect if you want a functional headlamp without breaking the bank too much.

      Great lamp

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This was a gift but I have feedback: great lamp for outdoor activities, morning tours, early morning hikes, camping.

      Great Headlamp

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a quality headlamp that won't break the bank. The battery life is solid, 200 lumens on full blast is plenty of light for just about every activity, it fits well on helmets, hats, heads and is very intuitive to use.
I've found that the quality of Petzl headlamps is quite good. Mine have always lasted for years and don't have problems despite being dropped, tossed, rained on, used in super cold conditions, etc.
There are a lot nicer headlamps out there with rechargeable batteries (this is compatible with the Core rechargeable pack), more power, more settings, and now even Bluetooth and some really fancy bells and whistles. For what I do, this headlamp is perfect. Whether it's a few nights backpacking, touring in the morning, biking to the grocery store at night, or reading in my tent this headlamp is always there. For 30 bucks you can't get a more reliable headlamp.

      Light Of My Life

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used this headlamp for a recent trip to The Grand Canyon. I enjoyed using the multiple setting to light up the world around me. I also have a tiny head and it fit perfectly with the adjustable strap.

      <3 Tikka

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Had an older Tikka for over 10 years - through snowstorms, rainstorms, backpacking, car camping, peace corps. It was always reliable and kept on working great until our dog thought it would be a great chew toy last week. Plan on having this one for years, too. Could be brighter, but it's a great deal for the price.

      Great headlamp

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great, durable, reliable, fairly bright headlamp. I haven't had the red light on other headlamps I own (several BD models) and I appreciate that feature. Can't go wrong with this one.

      Simplicity is Key

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I must have an older model because I don't have the red light feature. The most dire situation I need a head lamp for is night climbing and it's provides enough light for me to spot my holds and focus on only that.

      Great basic lantern.

This headlamp has all the settings I feel like I need. Bright, brighter and the red lamp. I love having a red lamp for moving around camp late at night. Probably wouldn't use this headlamp for quick moving sports at night. But, for hiking and around camp it is perfect!

        Great piece of gear

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this for camping and backpacking and occasionally as my headlight on my commuter bike. It's not the fanciest headlamp on the market but it does the job well and I like the color options. Would recommend this as an addition to anyone's backpacking kit.

Would this light work for nighttime trail running? Can you angle the beam down?

        Hey Sam!

Most definitely, yeah! At full brightness (200 lumens) you can see about 60ms (200 feet), so it would be perfect for trail running! You can definitely angle the whole apparatus, and the band can be tightened and loosened as you need as well. I think it would be great!
