Why We Like The Pro Bib Short

Crafted to be a lightweight companion for long days in the saddle, the Pearl Izumi Pro Bib Shorts are a wardrobe staple for training and racing. The seven-panel construction minimizes seams while offering a near-perfect fit around our legs and hips. The laser-cut bib straps are wide and soft, giving us a barely-there feel that keeps the shorts in place through the entire ride.

Most comfortable bibs I’ve ever owned

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Wore two pairs of these bibs about 400km over three warm days in Mallorca. The fabric is nice and soft, the padding also greenish and comfy. Bottom line was no chafe, and no pains. I’ve just ordered two more pairs in case they are crazy enough to try to improve on perfection.

Pearl Izumi Pro Bib Shorts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Of course gear choice is subjective to each user, but I agree with other comments here. These are by far the most comfortable, best fit/fabric, and functional bib shorts I’ve ever worn. Currently own three pair, purchasing pairs two and three on Competitive Cyclist sales in large part to make sure I have stock should PI ever change the design.

Gold standard bib shorts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have tried many different brands of bib shorts, including Rapha, ASOS, Pactimo, and others. All of these have good features but none of them have it all the way these shorts do. They’re comfortable. The chamois is the best of anything I’ve tried. The straps are barely there. They just make you want to go for a ride. For me, these are the standard by which all other bib shorts are judged. So far no others compare.

My Go-to bib short

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

For most of my rides I don't run a full bib short, usually either just a liner under baggies or a half short, but when I do decide to go on a longer ride and plan to spend several hours in the saddle, a pair of proper bibs are essential. The Pearl Izumi pro bibs are light enough to forget they exist, compressive enough to reduce fatigue but stretch enough to not cause discomfort 6 hours into the day. The Levitate Pro chamois is easily my favorite for the long hauls and the unique colorways are appreciated.
