Hands down, the best travel backpack I've ever own
Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack (Black) Hands down, the best travel backpack I've ever owned. I've traveled to over 43 countries, and this bag has been a game changer! The 45L size is perfect for both short and extended trips, fitting everything I need without ever feeling bulky. It's incredibly durable and weatherproof, which has saved me on multiple adventures in unpredictable climates. The design is sleek, functional, and super versatile with customizable packing cubes and compartments. Whether I'm trekking through airports or hiking in the mountains, this bag is comfortable and reliable every step of the way. I can't recommend it enough!

Great bag built for adventures
I've had this bag now for about 18 months and it's been brilliant. I used it to store my camera and gear in at home and for day trips, but it really comes into its own for photography trips abroad. Using the packing cubes you can optimise the space inside, I typically take a mirrorless body, a telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, filters, batteries, rain covers, memory cards and cleaning kit in a camera packing cube, and then a change of clothes in one of the other peak design clothing packing cubes. Perfect for hand luggage, this bag has been on African Safari, through the Australian Tropical Forests, and through the Amazon including camping out, so it's been put through its paces. It kept my gear accessible, safe, and dry (with the additional rain cover). It's got loads of handy pockets and features and has plenty of room. The build quality is excellent. Only negatives are that it's not the most comfortable bag to wear for a long time when it's heavy, it digs into shoulders and small of the back on me. The only other negative would be that for the price I would hope the rain cover was included.

Do it all backpack
I've had this bag for several years and used for both traveling, day trips, around town things like picnics. It's such a versatile pack. The material is rugged and keeps dirt and water out of it. It compresses down to save space when I don't need it packed to the gills, but when I need to carry say a bunch of jackets for my family, my sling, water bottles, hats, it can hold all of it, and still have extra room. The external carry straps are great for when I have larger puffy jackets that won't fit inside. The slide out waist straps are something I've not seen on any other pack either. Most other packs they detach off or roll up inside, but I love how fast I can stow them when not needed.

Worth every penny
Highly recommend this bag. After researching loads of other travel backpacks, this one checked all my boxes. The quality is top notch. At first I thought the price was steep but you pay for what you get. I plan to write another review after our Italy trip for 2 weeks. Stay tuned..

Just the Right Mix of Everything
After much online research and several "in-home trials" the 45L was the clear winner. The overall design is incredibly thoughtful and suited to real-world use. It is just the right blend of functionality, size, style, quality, and adaptability. I also appreciated that PD offers the full suite of accessories and support products to complete the perfect one bag system. Their online videos are incredibly helpful and really helped me understand and utilize all of the features of the bag.

Travel Backpack - Black 45L
I bought this product sometime back and took it for my solo trip to Uganda, February of this year. It is such a robust sturdy bag, sits well on the shoulders, comfortable across the back and a good fit for my camera and daily use

Great product, questionable after-sales support
I bought the sage version and have enjoyed it immensely. I've used it as my main travel bag; with a small and medium packing cube it can easily handle a week-long trip. I've used it for hiking, including a 5 day, 125+km with a significant amount of rain (I put a cheap rain cover on it). However, one of the zipper pulls on the main compartment broke and I've asked twice for a replacement. They claim to have sent it via USPS (I live in Europe) without any tracking numbers and neither time has it arrived. The second time I even offered to pay for a more reliable shipping method but was denied. I'm grateful it's not something critical, but after three months of waiting I'm giving up on Peak Design support to fix this. I will just buy an after-market zipper pull or attach a carabiner to it or something. I'm grateful it's not a more important part but this has shaken my confidence in their ability to actually back their lifetime warranty. I'll think twice before getting any products from them in the future.
