    Cute but Runs Large

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'2"

I find Patagonia sizing to be inconsistent. I bought this in a Small as I own other Patagonia items in a Small and this jacket in particular runs big. I should have exchanged it for an XS but removed the tags and wore it out before realizing how big it looked. I'll give it to my sister who will love it but make sure you size down.

    Great Looking, Comfortable Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket as a gift for my wife and it has quickly become one of her favorites. The fleece lining makes it very soft and warm, and even in the coldest climates up in the Pacific Northwest she can get away with wearing one base layer and this jacket and is very comfortable outside.

It fits true-to-size, and is the perfect length for her without feeling too bulky.

Incredibly cozy, great quality and cute.

You could definitely say I put this one through the ringer. I purchased this coat just before a 3 week long camping/road trip during late October. This jacket got me through some pretty cold nights in Wyoming and Montana. For two weeks we didn’t see a single night above freezing. On colder nights that dipped into the 20’s and teens I would put on a sweater or light down jacket underneath, but most of the time a beanie, gloves, and a buff around my neck were the only other accessories I wore with this jacket. The length kept my bottom and thighs warm. The material serves as a decent wind block. Its durable—

      Best Casual Jacket Ever!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this jacket! I bought it as a Fall to early Winter jacket and have been in love with it ever since. The sherpa lining keeps me warm and the canvas outer gives it a cool casual feel. I get a lot of compliments on it and have been very pleased with the fit. I am 5' 7", 140 lbs and bought a size small, it still has enough room to wear sweaters under it.

      Perfect Jacket!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this jacket! It is very comfortable and cute. I love the bear brown color way with the fleece hood, I do wish I had gone a size larger, the arms are a little snug. I know i won't be able to throw this jacket on over a sweatshirt. I am 5'5 135lbs. I was too excited when it arrived that i couldn't bear to send it back wait!

I got a small. I would probably go with a Medium. I feel like it's too snug to wear with any baggy sweaters, but it actually is stretching out a little bit every time i wear it.

      Warm, stylish and casual cool.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'0"

I'm loving this jacket. The industrial green is a great color that fits perfectly into my wardrobe. I'm 6ft tall and usually wear a women's size 14 and the large fits me well. I feel that the jacket runs a bit large. I like an XL nanopuff and XL Patagonia rain jacket, but an XL in this jacket was too big. If you are on the fence with which size to order, size down. I could use an extra half inch or so of sleeve length but I'm not complaining because I'm tall and sleeve length is always a problem of varying degrees. I get lots of compliments when I wear this jacket and the only reason that I don't give it a full 5 stars is that I wish it had a two way zipper! It would be so great to be able to unzip from the bottom up.

      In Love.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I absolutely love this jacket. The green canvas is trendy and goes with everything and the sherpa lining is so cozy. It's warm without feeling bulky. I'm obsessed.

      I really love this coat!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 120lbs

I love the coat, the color, the material. It is very warm and I always get so many compliments. Im a 30DD, so I was nervous about getting a small but very glad I did. I am still able to where a sweater under the jacket and not feel constrained.

I got the saddle color and it is just my style! Would totally recommend (and do) to anyone that asks. Very happy.

      Feels like a Hug

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'4"
      • Weight: 158lbs

This jacket is a serious everyday jacket. Fit allows for plenty of room for layering. Fleece lining in the body feels like a hug. I love the dual pockets so you can carry stuff and warm your hands separately. Pockets and sleeves have more of a silky feel.

      Love love love

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: large

I needed a casual coat that was not a ski coat and not super puffy, yet warm. This is so so warm and is so cute. I get compliments wherever I go. We bought one for me and now we just bought one as a gift. New go-to coat! - Ben's wife

      Comfy Cool and Fuzzy

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'6"

I have been eyeing this jacket for 2 seasons. I got the large originally and it was HUGE on me, I am 5'6 and a 36 D and the medium ended up being the perfect fit. It is definitely a jacket for cold weather, it almost feels like you are wearing a fleece blanket but with a really cute outer shell.

      New favorite

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 120lbs

I bought this for my wife and it has since been her go to jacket. She wears it almost daily and it looks great with everything. The lining inside makes for a super warm jacket, without being bulky. Buy one for your wife.

      Parka Lyyyfe

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 140lbs

I've been loving this jacket! It's super cute if you like the kind of over sized parka look. It's pretty long and hits me just a few inches above my knee. But the regular fit leaves a little wiggle room for layering underneath when the temp drops even more this winter! The fleece lining is really cozy too. Also the waist drawstring stays in place really well. Highly recommend this coat!

      GO TO JACKET

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XS
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 110lbs

I gave this as a gift:

"When i am looking for a stylish, but casual and cute jacket, i always think of my Patagonia Prairie Jacket! The green is absolutely wonderful. Exactly as it looks in the picture. It has a super awesome cinch in the waist that helps it have a more custom fit.
The sleeves don't have much insulation, but the body has a nice fleece on the inside.
I love everything about this jacket."

      Casual and Cool

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 120lbs

I've either had light fall coats or heavy ski coats. I needed a casual winter jacket so I decided to give this one a try! It's worked wonderfully so far! I think the fit is great. I really like that the waist has a cinch as well as the hem of the coat. It makes it a little more flattering and form fitting and can cater to all sorts of body types within the sizes which I think is awesome! The sherpa lining is nice, soft, and cozy. The outer canvas material feels really durable and I feel will hold up over time! It's kept me nice and warm! It's really made the perfect casual get-around-town coat. The hood is great and is actually functional! It shields your head from the wind and the sherpa lining within the hood keeps your noggin warm. The only thing I don't like about this coat is that it bunches up around your waist/hips when you sit down which is both slightly uncomfortable and little unflattering. Really not that big of a deal to me, i'm just nit-picking. I pretty much wear this coat every day to and from work, around town, etc! It's been great for me and I would definitely recommend it.

      Not the One

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'7"
      • Weight: 125lbs

My fiancee was hoping this would be her go-to winter coat, but there were a few things she didn't like about it:
-The fit! For my lady's broader shoulders and narrow hips, this jacket was tight up-top and a big ole bubble around her hips.
-The super casual style. The cotton-canvas outer has a cool look but is not very versatile- casual only!

In the end we had to return this one and will probably purchase something waterproof and slightly more dressy.

Will you be getting more sizes in Saddle any time soon? Preferably a Medium

      Unanswered Question

Are you still expecting a shipment? I'm looking for a medium in green or blue

Hi will you be restocking the Patagonia Women's Prairie Dawn Insulated Parka (Item # PAT010O)? I would like to place an order. Thanks!

How fitted is this jacket? I'm tall with broad shoulders and I'm usually ok in a medium but I want to be able to wear more than just a t-shirt underneath this and also worry about the large swallowing me up. Help! :)

Unfortunately I don't have a solid answer for you. I am however looking to buy the jacket for my girlfriend and have done a bit of research. You can see some reviews through the link below which may help answer the question.

To approximately what temps do you think this jacket will keep you warm? In Fahrenheit... Thank you!!

      Hi Adrienne,

You would be okay in freezing to just below freezing in my opinion. But everyone is different in how they feel cold. This would be with wearing normal clothes underneath, and that you are not in high wind or stormy weather.

How will this do in rain?

      Best Answer

      Marissa,

This wouldn't be ideal for any heavy rain, but I have the similar men's jacket and have worn it quite a bit in light rain and snow. The shell fabric might get wet, but with the insulation it takes quite a bit of moisture to soak all the way through.
