Hybrid Fly Fishing Pack Vest

Your grandpa's old fishing vest is in great shape for its age, but as kind as it was for him to pass it along, you always feel you need more space. The Patagonia Hybrid Fly Fishing Pack Vest gives you the performance of a backpack with the convenience of a vest. All of the front pockets keep the gear you might need immediate access to right under your nose, and the backpack ensures you don't have to leave your sandwich, sun shirt, and hydration bladder on the bank as you wade.

  • Hybrid pack and vest for wade fishing in salt- or freshwater
  • Hydration sleeve lets you secure a reservoir
  • Mesh allows air to flow to keep you cool
  • DWR finish on pockets sheds splashing water
  • Front and side adjustment points for a perfect fit
  • Rod holder for hands-free hiking
  • Item #PAT02HC

A Great Day Vest

I've used it several times
True to size

This vest is lightweight, dries quickly and has provisions for a water bladder. I love it. I like to fish light, so only one small case of flies, extra tippet and a lunch. I filled my water bladder and took off. It has provisions for all your favorite dangly accessories. It doesn't have the storage capacity of something like a fancy-loaded Simms vest, but for just a quick outing, it's fantastic.

Awesome vest, but..

I've used it several times
True to size
Size Bought
5` 9"
150 lbs

Have used this a few times since I received it in the mail a week ago, my only issue is the rod holder.. The plastic pieces that cinch the rod down have both come off of the bungee cord they were attached to, I've yet to put them back on, hopefully I can but seems ridiculous that the first time I try to put a rod case in there they break off. Other than that, works very well. I even took it rafting and after being splashed on by a lot of white water, it stayed very dry in each pocket and the backpack was dry as well.

So far so good

I went fly fishing with it the first time on Friday and it worked great.

Sizing I am a 180 lbs. 5’11. Should I go with small/med Or L/xl? Do not want it to be too loose and slide off my shoulder while casting

For your height and weight, my best guess is that you would be L/XL, but your best bet would be to check the size chart found right above the size selection.
