    Multi-purpose daypack.

Beach bag, lunchbox, storage unit, homework caddy, snack dispenser—the Patagonia Kids’ Bonsai Backpack plays many roles. Sized to hold enough goodies for a full day on the trail or city streets, this kids’ pack has a top-loading design for fast access to the main compartment and a zippered top pocket to hold small essentials. An organizational pocket inside keeps lunch money and sweet treats secure. The recycled polyester fabric feels supple and light while providing the durability needed for season after season of use. Human Curve shoulder straps have an ergonomic shape and feature lightweight padding that feels comfortable throughout a long day. Daisy chains add lash points for a bike light or a cherished stuffed companion, and an interior ID label lets your kid pass the Bonsai along to younger siblings when the time comes.

"Bonsai - Japanese art form using trees grown in containers often used in English as an umbrella term for all miniature trees in containers or pots" (Wikipedia). While the definition of Bonsai starts off well, as it highlights the idea of a "little trees," it quickly loses accuracy in regards to the Patagonia Bonsai pack. Although the bonsai tree is "contained" in a pot, there is nothing that can contain the bonsai backpack or my two little school age children who LOVE their backpacks.

Homework folders, lunch pails, and 24 oz water bottles are just the necessities that easily fit into the pack. In addition to the required daily load, I am always surprised by the seemingly plethora of little treasure that my kids manage to stuff into these packs. Much to the dismay of our children's teacher, endless amounts of toys and other treasures seem to find their way into my children's pack. The best part is that these pack joined our family at the start of our children's respective school career and a couple of years later they hardly show any signs of wear - minus a few little "intentional" bedazzlements.
