Why We Like The Vigor Grid Fleece Half-Zip Jacket

Wicking and warm, the Outdoor Research Vigor Grid Fleece Half-Zip Jacket is crafted with thermo-regulating ActiveTemp technology to manage our body temperature in quickly changing climates. The Vigor's grid fleece fabric wicks sweat and allows total breathability when we're grinding out vert uphill, while the flatlock seam construction prevents painful chafing from ruining the day. Whether we're wearing it as a midlayer for sub-freezing days or on its own for mild temperatures, the Vigor always has our back.

Mt. Washington Winter Approved

Bought this as my mid layer for our annual Mt. Washington hike up the Lions Head Winter Route. With this mid layer fleece, a pair of alpine onset 150 bottoms and half zip top, and OR Snow Pants - that combo got me through perfectly until we got above the tree line and had to layer up further. 10 degrees outside not including the 20mph sustained winds before we got above tue trees. The moisture wicking, comfort, and heat retention/breathability were exactly what I needed to make the hike a success this year and never get my clothes wet from sweat. Warmth, moisture wicking, and comfort. Mt. Washington Winter approved.

Feels good. I wear a lot. Probably too much.

I bought this shirt to use for everything from travelling to backpacking to working out to just kicking around the house. For a lot of synthetic shirts I wear an undershirt because the material doesn't feel great against my skin. This one is super comfortable. Probably the biggest testimony I can give is that I've found myself wearing it for 3 days in a row. I just like the fit. I live in Maine and this is going to be perfect for Spring. And Summer. And Fall. And Winter.

Great product!

I love the fit and feel of this half zip fleece. It's athletic enough to wear as a base layer on a cold day but also casual enough to wear to work or around town. I liked it so much that I purchased two colors.

Great midlayer for Scotland in early March

I picked this up in preparation for a trip to Scotland at the tail end of the winter season. Temperatures averaged 28-40 degrees Fahrenheit with strong winds and light rain being common. This garment worked extremely well over top of a cheap polyester base layer and often only needed a rain jacket to help protect against the wind when out hiking. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightweight and warm midlayer.

Great Mid-Layer

Breaths well on the move and retains warmth when resting. Love the grid fleece.

From summits to the streets

Perfect fit and quality. Great! Added edition as an installation layer. And also looks great on the town.

Perfect as a layer or standalone top

I now own two 1/4 zip vigor fleece tops as well as the full zip jacket. Light and not bulky at all, yet provide plenty of warmth either as a layer or as a standalone top! Very well done, OR

Nice jacket

The pullover jacket is great! I really enjoy the fitted cut. It's not baggy and stays close to the torso and arms when walking without feeling too tight. It's also very warm, especially for the thickness. I've hiked in the jacket and also use it for morning dog walks. For me, the jacket is perfect for temperatures in the 40s. It's ok for 30s unless the wind is blowing otherwise I've used an outer wind shell and the combo is perfect.

Great fit, great feel.

I've had an OR Vigor Hoodie for many years as my primary warmth layer for climbing. It's held up really well and continues to perform great. I recently added a half zip to my arsenal for when I do not need the hood and the fit is even better, more athletic and trim. Appreciate all the features.

Definitely recommend this product

This is my go-to mid-weight base layer if I am not wearing a thin merino shirt of some sort. Love the athletic/form fit and the chest pocket is nice when you need to store something small or even a snack when using as your only layer for more aerobic activities. Fits secure and higher on the neck when fully zipped, which is nice when the winds pick up and it is colder. Wicks moisture well with the fleece waffle pattern on the inside. I wear this when I ski, bike, trail run, and casually to work at times. Highly recommend
