Incredible Winter Parka

Familiarity:

I've been wanting to get a longer winter jacket and decided to pull the trigger on this. WOW. It's an amazing winter parka. I call it my "sleeping bag". So warm, and the long length makes all the difference. I decided to get a larger size than I would normally wear to allow for chunky fit sweaters or other layers underneath. I don't like to zip up my jacket, so I wanted a larger size that I could easily wrap around myself. My only complaint is that the hood is pretty big and isn't removable. The draft collar keeps me super toasty. I also love the side zippers on the bottom for better mobility, like walking up stairs or driving. I'm pretty short, so the coat hits about mid calf, but I love the extra coverage.

Cozy and warm!

I love this coat. It's so toasty that it's almost too warm! I bought it for a trip to Steamboat. It's perfect for truly cold days. I would recommend getting a different color than black. The fabric really attracts dust and pet hair so it always looks dirty. I think this would be less of an issue with the blue color.

A 5-star Parka

My sister recommended the coat I purchased. We live in MN and experience very cold, windy winter days. The coat is well-made. I can tell a lot of thought went into the design and extras features; like the extra tall collar, the large hood and zippered side vents for driving. I highly recommend the long, women's down coat.

Perfect Winter Jacket

I cannot say enough good things about this jacket. Let me start off by saying I sized down. Normally, I wear a large in jackets. I originally ordered a large, but I was swimming in it. I returned and got a medium and it fits perfectly. The hood is a dream. It comes over the face and blocks out all wind and snow. I've worn the jacket with a tank top under it to walk the dog and the wind doesn't penetrate it! I will never need another jacket, again. If you're on the fence, just get it. It's worth every single penny.

Super toasty for NYC!

I love this coat. I'm 5'3" 120lb and bought the XS. It's very comfy in the chest and shoulders, and goes below my knees which I like, without being low enough to impede walking up stairs or anything. It's super warm, and I love the large insulated collar to protect my chin and neck. The hood is oversized so it fits over a beanie. It definitely keeps me warm on cold, windy days in NYC. The thumb holes are great too because it keeps half of my hands a bit warmer. Nice interior pocket, and the exterior pockets are insulated and warm. I wish it were waterproof, but you can't have it all.

Best teacher recess and bus duty coat ever!

I needed something long and warm for our Northern New England winters while I am out on bus and recess duty for my 5th grade students. This coat is PERFECT! It is extra long so even when I wear leggings I stay warm. The neck gator is extremely soft and feels like a pillow around my neck. I sized up to a large so I could fit bulky sweaters underneath. I think a Medium would have fit fine, but I like a little extra room. I'm 5'5", 140lbs. One other bonus is the durable fabric. I've got patches over holes I've snagged in my other down coat, but I don't see that being an issue with this one.

Very warm (tested so far in high 20-low 30s F), extremely comfortable. Great pockets. Hood is roomy. Like a wearable sleeping bag

Final Decision

After trying several long down coats this was the winner for a few reasons. A coat this long needs a zipper that works well and this one didn't snag like the other manufacturer's. I also appreciated the large interior pocket for stuffing a hat and gloves and the great big hood. I almost didn't keep this coat because I could t see how to snug up the hood. Luckily I found info online and after that it was a breeze. The only thing I would change is the addition of a few well placed snaps so it doesn't have to be zipped for quick forays out with the trash or the dog.
