Why We Like The Osprey Raven 10L Backpack

The Osprey Raven may not get us back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore, but this 10L backpack has got our back when we're mounting up for a cross country loop or crushing downhill runs at the resort. We like the pack's women-specific fit and all of its bike-centric features, including a tool roll that organizes our mini-pumps, levers, and more in a dedicated lower compartment, the LidLock that attaches our helmet outside the pack to preserve inside space, and the new "winged" harness that wraps our upper shoulders for added stability and a close-to-body fit for better balance and less sloshing. The hydration system is another plus with the included 2.5-liter that fits into a dedicated hydration compartment and a magnetic bite valve that keeps the hose from whipping around when we fly down steep straightaways or criss-cross down a series of switchbacks. Although it's fairly compact, the Raven's 10-liter capacity can accommodate a light layer, a substantial snack, and all the tools we need to get our bike back to the trailhead after a mid-ride breakdown. That adds up to a top-notch hydration pack.
