When we’re moving up long rock faces and the wind starts to funnel through exposed ridgelines, we rely on layers that won’t restrict our movement. The Trad Plus Jacket by Ortovox is designed for demanding climbing days, combining abrasion resistance with breathable comfort for extended time on the wall.

We stay comfortable thanks to the Merino Shield Tec fabric, which places merino wool on the inside for next-to-skin comfort while maintaining a durable outer face. Four-way stretch ensures unrestricted reach whether we’re placing gear or committing to a crux move. High-abrasion zones at the shoulders, underarms, and hips are reinforced with Shield Light fabric to stand up to rough rock and harness wear. An anatomically shaped hood fits securely without limiting visibility, and the two zippered chest pockets remain accessible under a harness or pack. Elastic cuffs and an adjustable hem fine-tune the fit when conditions shift.
