Old Town's Sportsman 120 Paddle Kayak is a stable boat built for fishing. Its DoubleU Hull not only provides the ultra stability necessary to catch-and-release, but also glides quietly through water. The Sportsman styles Old Town's premium seating with cushy layers of 3D mesh inside a durable, UV-resistant, breahtable Testilene fabric. There's a layer of EVA foam on the bottom for stand-up comfort and non-slip traction for both you and your gear. The bow hatch has a sealed lid for dry storage, and the large open cockpit includes an aft tank and Old Town's custom tackle box. Two tracks on the forward hull provide addicitonal mounting for Fish Finders. There are slots in front of the seat to hold a tournament catch tray channel so you can measure your catches.

I love it but ...

I really love this kayak. It is hard to beat. BUT ... I really wish that they would add rear tracks and a handle to the back. I know that I can add them, but for the money they should be factory installed. It is pretty heavy.

Off to a great start

This is my first venture with kayak fishing. The kayak is comfortable and stable. It maneuvers well. Maiden voyage I caught 5 spotted trout, so I'd say off to a good start. Still way low on the learning curve but I am very pleased with the purchase.

Old Town PDL 120

The best kayak I have ever owned. I started out with an Ascend FS12T, winds and waves were an issue, not anymore. The OT PDL120 is stable and quick, I am 240lbs and 5"11 male. The kayak is great and confidence on big lakes is super important for obvious safety reasons. I have had water over the bow many times and crashed through 2 foot boat wakes with ease. Thank you Old Town. I will buy another one in the future.

Great kayaks

Old Town Kayaks are addictive. I started out with a Topwater 120. Then I bought my wife an Old Town Sportsman 106 PDL because she had a hard time keeping up with me as I paddled. I then had to buy myself a Sportsman 120 PDL to keep up with her. These kayaks see a lot of use from long trips around our mountain lakes we live near to hauling them to the Gulf every year for vacation. I am 6’4 and 220 lbs. and this kayak is stable for enough for me to standup and fish on. No problem with rough waters in the ocean. I have had breakers lapping over the top of the bow and the kayak never loses a step. These are the only kayaks my wife will set foot on. My next step is to add a motor to my original Old Town 120.

All I expected +

This was one of my favorite purchases I think I've ever made. This yak is stable as can be and moves at a really nice cruising speed and a good top end when I feel like going for broke on my legs. It's a little heavy, but I knew that going in to the purchase and I'm fine with that. It car-tops really well with a t-bar on a crossover vehicle. It's really easy to steer and by being as heavy as it is, it holds well along the grassline of the marsh when you want to hold your position to fish. Reverse drive and the simple mechanism to pop up the pedals in shallow water makes this perfect fishing platform for tidal waters and creeks. You won't be sorry.

Great Design

I bought this kayak last year and couldn't be happier. I took it out on a small lake and fished for about 10 hours straight (caught a nice mess of bluegill). I expected my back to get sore, but the seat is so comfortable that I had no issue. I think pedalling is also helpul, as it keeps the blood moving. I can't wait to take it out again this spring. There is plenty of storage space and this kayak is very stable and sturdy; I'm 6'4", 260lbs, had a full cooler and plenty of gear, and had no issue whatsoever. I'm very happy with my purchase.
