    Great All-Around Trail Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8.5
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 125lbs

My husband and I both own pairs of the Nike Kigers. We have been through three pairs so far. The lugs are perfect for just about any trail condition and level of technicality (the hubby just ran the Rut, which is a very technical sky race, in a pair). They are very agile and comfortable and breathe very well. I've ran in very hot and very wet weather with them and they've performed beautifully. The toe box is just roomy enough. Great beginner trail shoe.

    Different color than expected/Too small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 8
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 118lbs

I was hoping these would be more of a peachy-pink but they're actually super bright, more of a fuchsia/hot pink color. Not what I was expecting. As some other reviews I read mentioned, they are also too small in the toe area. I have another pair of nikes and wear a size 8 but I ordered an 8 in these and they definitely won't work. Sad about the return shipping but I'll continue my search for great tennis shoes!

    Amazing trail shoes!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 6
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 112lbs

I have walked/hiked about 50+ miles in these now and I absolutely love them. I spent a week in Ireland hiking and walking and they held up so well. They are comfortable, keep your feet dry, and have great traction. They do run a little bit small and can be hard to put on since one side of the tongue is stitched down, but I have narrow feet (size 6) so this wasn't a problem. I got the green glow color and they look just like the pics. I'm considering buying another pair.

    Amazing trail shoes!

    Great, lightweight trail runners

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9.5
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 155lbs

These shoes are extremely comfortable with roomy toe box, but snug heel. They are a bit awkward to put on, the tongue is attached on one side so I ended up squishing down the heel, but that didn't affect the fit. The bottom of the shoe is extremely grippy, unfortunately the lugs wore off in about 3-4 weeks (I wear them on the rocky/sandy trails of the Eastern Sierras about 6 miles a day). I still wear these on the trail and around town though.

    Awesome light hiker/trail runner

I got these as a replacement for my light hiker and they work really well. Like a lot of Nike's newer shoes, they are super lightweight and don't feel like a clunky shoe. Great for walking the dogs on established trails.

      Decent runners

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 130lbs

Since an ankle injury last May, I haven't been able to run as much as I'd like to, but I had the opportunity to test out the terra kigers and couldn't pass it up. So far, I've used them for day hikes and short trail runs. Pros: I like how light-weight they are and compact in case you want to pack them in your overnight bag. They also breathe really well in warm weather. Cons: the fit is not my favorite. They fit well in the heel but when I first started wearing them I felt as if my toes were going to break through the flymesh and I got a few blisters as a result. After a few wears they don't rub as much, but the toe fit is still not ideal for me. They are definitely more of a minimalist shoe which I like but also dislike, because of my injury (the more cushion the better). Those who prefer the 4mm drop will like the way these perform though.

      Love!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Needed some new kicks so I tried out these Nike's and I LOVE them! They are super comfy and have great traction. I got them in the grey/ lime green and I get compliments on them all the time.

      Love these

Great Nikes - I bought the grey - color goes with everything. Admittedly I bought these for running around town vs the trails....they are lightweight and very comfortable.

        Great all-around running shoe.

What I was looking for: A shoe that will grip well on the trail for hiking and maybe a little bit of trail running, with versatility for putting in some road miles here and there. Add in a little bit of support and a small heel-to-toe drop, and I'd be happy.

On paper, these shoes seemed to fit the bill pretty well, and they haven't disappointed. They're super lightweight and breathable, so probably not the best for winter, but definitely keep my feet cool in this lovely high desert heat. I've used them mostly for hiking and a trail jog or two so far, and they're night and day better at gripping rocks than my old road running shoes. Which isn't overly surprising, but the lugs grab much more efficiently than I expected given their relatively low profile compared to other trail shoes out there.

Aside from not slipping and sliding around on the trail, the 4mm heel-to-toe drop is one of my favorite features. This was the deciding factor when choosing between this shoe and the Terra Zoom Wildhorse, which has an 8mm drop. I know a 4mm difference sounds tiny, but you can definitely feel it. It takes away that weird torqued ankle feeling when walking downhill, and allows for a really solid mid-foot strike on the run.

As for fit, I was admittedly skeptical about Nike's trending towards a much wider shoe over the past few years. The toe box is a little wider than I'd like, but I also have ridiculously narrow feet so that may not be an issue for most people. The tongue isn't really a traditional tongue, more like a shoe upper burrito that's fully attached on the instep side of the shoe and slides under the outside edge like a tectonic plate. Paired with Nike's lacing system, the burrito tongue allows for a super fit that feels a bit like wearing a comfy sock.

        Great all-around running shoe.

Great shoe, but pictures aren't accurate

I picked these up for girlfriend in the grey and they were not how we pictured they would be. The shoe itself is great, but there is more lime green on the shoe than anticipated. Check out the link below to get a better idea of what the shoes will look like.

Great shoe, but pictures aren't accurate

How are these shoes in terms of OCR and tough mudder types of races? Do they dry quickly? Will they minimize sliding? How well do they clean up after they get dirty?

I've never worn these shoes, but I've run Tough Mudder six times and these look pretty good. The most important thing is good tread for mud, and these big square lugs look like they'd behave well. Some people worry about the low rise of the shoe, but in my experience that's pretty much irrelevant—you'll be knee deep in mud at times and no shoe will keep that out. And your feet won't dry in the 3-4 hours it takes to run the course either. The mesh on these will get rid of excess water, and the soles will grip, and you can take the laces out and run them under a showerhead to get them clean afterward. I'd say go for it.
