Why We Like The NEMO Stargaze Reclining Camp Chair
NEMO knows how to make camping comfortable—and that includes their Stargaze Reclining Camp Chair. The first-ever swinging and reclining camp chair is a true luxury for outdoor life with a gentle swinging motion and an auto-reclining feature that we activate just by leaning back and shifting our body weight to lock in our "ahh" position.
The aircraft-grade aluminum frame is sturdier than most camp chairs to suspend us in durable, quick-drying, and well-ventilated comfort as we kick back for some stargazing. The Stargaze's three-step setup process takes less than a minute, so we don't need to wait long to hunker down in luxurious comfort at the campsite, tailgate, beach, park, or little league diamond.

Most comfortable camp chair
I recently bought this chair as a dedicated car camping chair and it is easily the most comfortable camp chair I’ve ever owned. I just got back from taking it on a week of elk hunting and this chair was a huge help in my recovery each evening. I really enjoy how much this chair reclines and if you find a good spot to rest your feet, like a cooler, you may as well be in your easy chair at home. I’m also super impressed how small this chair packs down for how comfortable and supportive this chair is. Highly recommend this chair.

Great Chair… but
I love this chair, but I wish they offered a version with metal connection terminals (for the poles) instead of nylon or whatever plastic material they use. I feel like this chair would last forever if the two connection terminals were metal, except for maybe needing to replace the seat portion every few years. I say this because one of the nylon/plastic terminals broke on the first Stargaze chair I owned, which NEMO replaced, but it was disappointing to discover there’s no way to replace these parts. That meant throwing away the entire chair because of one tiny part. If these parts were metal and constructed into two halves (screwed together) it could provide almost indestructible durability, as well as an easy way for users to take apart the connection terminals to self-repair/replace the poles and/or inter-pole bungie cords, and/or the terminals themselves. In addition, I think metal would also provide a huge upgrade to the chair’s stability… because the nylon/plastic connection terminals can begin to loosen/deform over time, making the chair somewhat wobbly.

The only one you should buy
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- One Size Fits All
There are LOTS of knockoff camp chairs like this one out there now. Don't fall for them. None of them have the build quality and comfort that the NEMO one has. I bought 3 other ones to try out and this is the one we kept.

frustrating lack of quality
I have had enough, after multiple attempts at purchasing these chairs, and expecting high functionality, I have given up. each of these chairs that I have owned has developed tears in the fabric, near the bottom of the rear support poles and have rendered the 300 dollar chairs useless. I had hoped it was a singular item issue, however it seems to be a design and manufacturing flaw. I have tried to repair the tears and have had no luck in doing so with lasting results. I do not reccomend spending money on these chairs, as they will fail.

My Portable Sanctuary
I bring my Stargazer everywhere with me. It's a 1st gen model and is showing its age but it still works well and I love it. Easy to set up, tear down and zip up. My first chair had stitching weakness but Nemo happily replaced, the replacement is great. The annoying design bits seem taken care of in this current model: Occasional pinching arm skin at the webbing-slip-joint, the too small of a pillow and a bit more space between the uprights. Nicely done, Nemo! I may need to upgrade when I wear out this one!

I Didn't Know I Needed This
Originally won one of these and now our whole family has one each and they make great gifts. It's really something you wouldn't necessarily buy for yourself, being a bit pricey--now that I have my own, I totally get it. Great construction, comfortable and so nice looking, we set them up in our living room for extra seating. Worth it.

Makes others envious
I am very happy with my stargazer. I use in on the beach, at my campsite, at outdoor concerts and for star gazing. I get many inquiries about my chair. I like the two side pocket for suntan lotion, bug spray and cell phone. I would NOT call it a drunk holder. The mesh on the chair keeps me cool and is good when im wet. I wasnt sure about the ability to recline without adjustment but I do like it. The bag is great as I can put the chair and legs back inside and that it had a carrying strap. I admit it is pricey and I have used a cheaper similar chair but the nemo is much better. You get what you pay for.

New version has some beautifully thought-out fixes
To preface, I've had the previous version of the Stargaze chairs for about 4 years now, and absolutely love them. We recently decided to try out the new version and gifted our older stargaze's to a relative. This new version has some subtle but highly improved features. Previously you'd have to set-up the back-support posts, but this new version has them integrated into the back of the chair and takes out a step / while also decreasing the chance of a broken or lost support post. I also like the new contouring and finish of the chair's aluminum tubing. It's a subtle but nice upgrade. Also, the pillow is way bigger this time around. Highly recommend this version of an already awesome chair. There's nothing else on the market like it.

Almost perfect but needs footrest to relax
Almost perfect but needs footrest to relax completely. You really don't know where to put your feet. The feet are top low to relax. I try to rest my feet a bit higher on a cooler box but it's stopping you from swing in the chair. With a footrest it would be a dream.
