Why We Like The Bridger 65L Backpack
A favorite of ours for its no-frills construction, the Bridger 65L Backpack features a traditional backpacking bag design but adds more places to stow our gear and a breathable, sturdy frame and support. Adjusting and fine-tuning the yoke year after year brought Mystery Ranch to this current version where it is now more supportive and ventilated than ever so we can avoid the dampness and discomfort of long days hiking to far-out locations. The Bridger also has a dual access main compartment so we can easily grab items without having to dig through the whole thing. We like that the removable lid doubles as a waist pack for fun side missions on lengthy multi-night excursions.

Good for most
I want to start by saying I have the coulee pack and give it 5 stars, love that thing. But the Bridget is different. I felt it was comfortable with no weight, but once weight was applied it was a different story. Had close to 40 lbs. on a trip to Buffalo River, and can say that I hurt. I am athletic build with what is called a bubble butt. The frame drops below the hip pad, and finds a nice spot to dig on the upper part of my butt. If have to step up on something the still planted leg gets it even worse. By the end of 8.5 miles I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather not do, than to put on the pack. I emailed Mystery Ranch and they thought it wasn’t adjusted right. I’ve backpacked most of my life and know well how to adjust packs, but I did what they said. I walked around with 30 lbs in my house for an hour and my butt wasn’t happy. So the back pad of the belt is at my lower back and the two points of the frame on the top part of my butt. So I would recommend for most people that like organization and don’t mind the weight. Wouldn’t recommend for people built like me or want a more streamline lighter weight pack.

Best pack ever!!!
Bought this pack to replace my Glacier 70L for a backpacking trip in the Tetons. This pack so super comfortable. I had no issues with any pinching at the waist and loads of comfort at my shoulders. The pack was loaded with features and pockets for gear. We did a 3 day 2 night trip through the Tetons and had no issues. My buddy wore the pack and was blown away at how comfortable the pack was loaded down. I highly recommend this pack for anyone that just wants a “one and done” pack. Mystery ranch nails it again!!

BRIDGER 65
I BOUGHT THIS BAG FOR SOME UPCOMING LONG WEEKEND BACKPACKING TRIPS. I NOTED A FAVORABLE REVIEW ONLINE AND BEGAN DRILLING INTO THE COMPANY AND THE PRODUCT. WHAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION WAS IT NOT BEING A SUPER LITE PACK, BUT A PACK THAT WOULD RIDE WELL, AND SUPPORT THE WEIGHT EVENLY. IN ADDITION, IT HAD FEATURES ON IT THAT OTHERS DID NOT - HAVING THE FRONT SIDE WATER POCKETS IS A GAME CHANGER. HAVING THE ABILITY TO USE THE TOP HALF AS A FANNY PACK I ALSO FOUND TO BE A GREAT SOLUTION TO GIVE EASIER ACCESS TO NEEDED THINGS ON TRAIL. SO, IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT MYSTERY RANCH PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO THESE PACKS AND HOW IT WOULD WORK ON THE TRAIL. I AM 2 WEEKS OUT FROM MY TRIP AND LOOK FORWARD TO TESTING IT ON TRAIL. BUT I CAN SEE IN COMPARISON TO OTHER PACKS I OWN AND TESTING IT OUT THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.

Fantastic Option!
Probably one of the best packs I’ve used in recent future. Love that the main pack can be accessed from the top or the side. Harness is one of the best I’ve ever had, comfortable and sturdy. It doesn’t dig into your hips at all and has extra storage for small things and snacks. Probably should have bought this pack a long time ago. Really can’t go wrong, no complaints overall. Would buy again!

Bridger morphs into Glacier
I ordered the Bridger but returned it because the bag capacity was too small for me. I was lucky enough to have an extra large Glacier delivered as a replacement. If you are looking for a Glacier or Terraplane backpack, you may find them very difficult to source. Dana Design packs were once the top pack to have and I didn’t know that Mystery Ranch still made them. However, supply chain issues and a major redesign plan mean both are extremely hard to source. I now have my Glacier and it’s ready to go. Beautiful pack.`I know it’s going to be great because I had a Dana Design Terraplane for years - best pack ever - and this new Glacier is the same, just a little smaller capacity. Now that I’m 75, I’m ready to carry a bit less.

Serious upgrade
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Large
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 200
I have a few different packs ranging from a frameless Deuter 45 liter to an older Arc’Teryx Bora 95, with a Dana Design Big Sky for day use. I did quite a bit of looking at lighter packs to keep up with youngest kid but really glad I didn’t let the weight bother me and went with the Bridger. Picking it up it feels heavy but it feels lightless when adjusted properly and sitting on my hips. If I feel like I need to save weight later, I’ll count grams on my sleep system and tent before I pick a different pack.

Durable, excellent load carrying, very comfortable
The Breathable Endurance Yolk is a revolution in backpack design. It is exceptionally good at stabilizing the load. The innovative design, durable materials, and the quality of fit and finish is excellent, no flaws. The 65L size is perfect for mountaineering, and the removable top lid and compression straps allow reducing the pack size for day hiking. If you only have one pack, this is the one you need. Outstanding value, unbeatable quality.

Excellent pack
Great range of adjustability and organization options. Once you have it dialed in, a 40lb pack feels lighter and remains comfortable over the miles.

Great Pack
I've been looking for a good backpacking pack. I tried all of the popular brands: Osprey, Gregory, REI, etc but this pack really stuck out to me. It's very comfortable and has lots of space/pockets. Lots of great features, especially the water pockets on the front straps. The only downside is that it doesn't have a place for a Camelbak straw to feed through.

Excellent pack.
Adjustable suspension makes so you are wearing it not carrying it.

What is the size of the sleeping bag compartment? I have a military MMS sleeping system including the the green and black sleeping bags and the gortex bivy cover. I want to now if the sleeping bag compartment is big enough for this sleeping system.

I recently purchased the Bridger 65 in a Men’s L/XL size. I am 5'9", weigh 176 lbs, have a torso length of 20 inches, and a hip measurement of 36 inches. Is this the correct size for me? Should I keep this pack? Thank you!

How come the 65L doesn't come with the large traditional front mesh pocket like the smaller versions or just about any other pack (for quick excess)? Btw, the black 45L Bridger is the best looking of the bunch :-)
