    Lighten your load.

Shave a few extra lbs from your pack when you bring the MSR Flylite 2-Person Tent on your next backpacking trip. With a trail weight of just 1lb 9oz, the Flylite is one of the lightest two person shelters on the market today, making it an excellent choice for ultralight backpackers and gram-counting thru-hikers alike.

Saving weight with a single-wall design, the fly is composed of a 10D ripstop nylon, which is treated with MSR's Durashield PU coating for increased protection from unruly mountain weather. Fully taped seams and reinforced stress points prevent water from working through and ensure the tent holds up when the winds pick up. Mesh side windows keep the inside of the tent well ventilated, while a covered entryway gives you some space to get gear ready out of the rain. Setup requires two trekking poles, while the included two guy cords and the lightweight aluminum pole take care of the rest.

No bugs when you got a floor!

I bought this tent with the intention of using it as a “one person”, ultra-light option for backcountry archery hunting and general backpacking. I was also looking for something with a floor. I am getting to old to do the tarp and trekking pole option and I am tired of waking up with a spider bite or going to bed with the mosquitos. It had more than enough space for myself and all my gear for a multi-day trip, so don’t be turned off by the lack of a vestibule. I have always been a big fan of MSR and this is the third tent of theirs that I have purchased. I still have the other two and they are both over 10 years old. Needless to say they are a quality company that makes long lasting products. If you backpack with trekking poles already, get this tent. I am stoked to have it!

      Highly Recommend

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my first UL tent and I can say that owning a 2-person tent that weighs 1lbs 9oz packed is an absolute dream. I used to dread packing a tent but now I can throw this one in any bag without compromising space and weight.

Set up is easy and straightforward. You’re definitely going to want to have a hard surface though. I tried to set up on sand and it’s near impossible to get the stakes to stay in place, but that goes for any tent.

I spent a night in it with 20-30 mph winds and it held up great!

There’s plenty of room for 2 people + gear inside of it. I’ve had many people OOooo and AAaawww over the size and weight of the tent already and I’ve only used it a couple of times.

The material is very thin, but does fine in rain storms. I live in the Eastern Sierra and occasionally we’ll get short but very intense storm systems that roll through and this tent held up completely fine. Very happy with that. Also I’m 5’9 and have TONS of room inside, the footprint is impressive.

Overall I am very pleased with this product and it will play a crucial role in all of my adventures

      in the Sierra backcountry.

      Highly Recommend

      So far so good

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Originally I picked this up for my solo thru hikes but decided to try it out for lightweight overnight mountaineering trips.
Just a few things I've learned.
Its light and compact. a 115mm pole won't hold it up. Guy line.. and more line..
It vents great with all the mesh and yet didn't get a bad cross breeze.
      Its very roomy!
Set it up a few times before heading out and just be sure to be protected from the wind.
      Enjoy

I realize there is quite a bit of mesh on this tent but does the door have any mesh? I couldn't tell from the online set up video.
