Why We Like The Ghost Whisperer 2 Down Jacket
The Mountain Hardwear Men's Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket won a number of awards in the industry when it was first released back in 2012, and it has since become the gold standard in ultralight down jackets. Part of the allure of the Ghost Whisperer (besides its ridiculously lightweight design) was Mountain Hardwear's resolve to keep the jacket fully loaded with the proverbial bells and whistles, instead of just chopping features in an attempt to keep the jacket light.
The Ghost Whisperer is ideal for climbing in the alpine, long-haul backpacking trips, and peak-bagging bids where packing light and moving fast is key to reaching our objective. While we might typically reserve our down jacket for dry and mild climates, the Ghost Whisperer isn't afraid to get a little wet thanks to its nylon outer with DWR treatment that can easily fight off light weather. As an added bonus the nylon outer boasts impressive durability for climbing missions, and is made entirely of recycled materials.

Great jacket if you can get a big discount
Great jacket! Got it at a big discount and it's the perfect second layer. Packs down to a tiny size.

Decent jacket
Zipper on this thing is tiny. It will likely break but other than that it seems good but not worth the price.

My first mountain hardware purchase. This jacket is nothing special. I was very disappointed. The zipper is hard to get together cause it’s so small. The sleeves are very tight, but I mostly get that.

Perfect mid layer for skiing or warm jacket for traveling
Got this jacket as a midlayer for sking really really cold days as well as an all around jacket to travel with. When it's below 20º, this jacket performs at its finest on the resort. It is very very warm, and down isn't the most breathable insulator, so I really only use it when it on teen digit days. On the traveling side, this jacket is incredible. Again, very warm; but also lightweight and very packable. The previous jacket I had was a NF Thermoball which packed down, but to twice the size. I usually travel with one backpack, so every inch of space matters. Stowing it in its own pocket is very convenient a well. Highly recommend.

A missionary's friend.
Just what I needed I love the color and the light weight warmth. It goes back to Uganda with me for sure.

I’m a she-ro
Thank you. The recent purchase was a replacement for an older version of the same jacket. My husband wore it to shreds. He loves it. Great Bday gift. I’m a she-ro.

Finally got the jacket that I’ve always wanted
I am so looking forward to using this when I hike the Appalachian Trail starting in February 2024. I’ve always wanted one of these jackets because of their warmth and durability!
