Why We Like The Mammut Nordwand Pro HS Pant
Designed for the most technical alpine expeditions, Mammut's Nordwand Pro HS Pant provides the protection that Swiss mountain guides demand. That starts with GORE-TEX Pro—Gore's most durable waterproof-breathable membrane—but also includes a long list of premium features for mountaineers and backcountry skiers, such as 3/4-length side zippers, water-repellent zippers, Dyneema crampon protection, and the Mammut Gaiter Solution for a perfect seal over our mountaineering or ski boots. These rugged, full-featured pants also feature plenty of stretch and a cut that allows for maximum freedom of movement as we climb, ski, and conquer the mountain.

Great pants
I've used these in-bounds, backcountry, and winter hiking in the cold and heavy wet snow of New England. The material feels durable, I have no doubt that they'll hold up for years to come. The full zip is nice. Ventilation is good. My only complaint is the lack of pockets-only two front pockets, nothing in the lower part of the leg or butt-which is a bummer for those that like to carry a bit more on their person, but probably decreases the likelihood of failure somewhere in the fabric. I still give them a solid 5/5.

Great inbounds hardshell
I live and work in the Cascade mountains of WA state. The snow is plentiful and moist so we really need every bit of water resistance we can get. These pants match that need and then some. They are burly, but not too heavy. Functional without being overly complicated. These will be my go-to pants every day that I am not in uniform. Being Mammut, I know that they will last for many ski days.

Best pants
Shoping for ice climbing pants was difficult. I was looking to stay dry but to also have a fit that would allow me high steps while not getting caught in my crampons on steep snow. These pants have all I needed. First they are ultralight, they are as water resistant as it gets and they are made to move with you during your climbing. I was impressed how it felt like I was wearing nothing while climbing. I climb in the northeast, in very cold conditions and often very wet. So softshell is just not cutting it. These pants fits great and are exactly what I needed. They are pricy and it hurts when I make a new crampon tear but they are so worth it.

Great pants for ice climbing and ski touring
Have used these pants for several ski tours and alpine ice climbing trips now, and was very impressed by the breathability and durability. I found they fit true to size, even with light base layers underneath, and they haven't hindered my movement. I've only used them for spring/summer mountaineering so far, and the side zips work pretty well for venting heat during high output activity. There may be better options if you're exclusively a skier, but if you are also an alpine climber these are a great option.

Solid
These pants are solid. Ice climber. Definitely overkill for most things I get up to, but I'd rather be over dressed than the latter. Would like to see improvements on abrasion resistance, but not unsatisfied with current performance. If I were to order again, I would size up to help accommodate for layers.

Amazing Pant
Love the durability and waterproof finish. Also very breathable and great for longer tours in wet conditions. Not the lightest, so not ideal for high output. More a high mountain and weatherproof package.

Very surprised by the quality of these pants. I've used them for telemark skiing and ski touring, good fit and comfortable.

Great Pants
I was looking for Gore-Tex Pro pants to replace my 5 year old 3L ones that looked polka dot from all the patches. These have a great fit and are very warm even without any insulation. I wear 32 jeans and ordered size 34 in these to account for wearing insulated pants underneath which was the perfect choice. When extra insulation isn't needed, the waist adjusters work perfectly to make them fit. I'm not a fan of the suspenders for skiing and we will see how durable the Pro material is. I hope to get at least 6 years out of these and will report back on their durability.
