Luxurious warmth with a performance fit.
Gone are the days when you automatically reach for two insulated jackets for your big mountain trip. Now, when you dream about blue mountain skies and misty mornings, you need only the Women's Mammut Eigerjoch Advanced IN Hooded Down Jacket to keep you warm. An impressive 850-fill down fill provides the high warmth-to-weight ratio that down is known for, but should you get caught in stormy weather, it will still offer shelter. Not only is the down treated to be hydrophobic, but Pertex Quantum fabric adds additional water-repellency for breathable protection that keeps you comfortable.
Mammut incorporates stretch technology into the arms and torso so that any alpine movement sequence or vertical climbing technique can be performed with ease. Additional four-way stretch is incorporated into the Primaloft insulation in the underarm panels and hood, and the pockets are situated so you can reach your jerky or electrolyte tablets while you're on the move. If you feel a chill sneaking about, cinch the hood around your helmet and adjust the drawstring on your hem to help block out that cold.

Functional and great looking down layer!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: M
- Height: 5'7"
- Weight: 140lbs
I am picky about the fit, functionality and look of insulation pieces and have been very pleased with the Eigerjoch. I got a M in "dawn" - bright purple. The color is fun and the fit is amazing - I have an athletic frame with broad shoulders and I can move easily in this jacket. At the same time, the shape is feminine and not "sleeping bag-like". I love the length, too, which is a little below my hips. The quality is high, with tougher-feeling outer fabric and lots of functional drawcords to keep the wind out. Though it's a light jacket, it's very warm for the weight. If you are in frigid temps, you will need to cover the Eigerjoch with a shell or a more substantial insulation layer. So far I have used the jacket as an insulation layer for outdoor activities and for travel (it's light and easy to pack). I am sure the Eigerjoch will accompany me on many future adventures, as an extra, easily packable layer while backcountry skiing, hiking and backpacking. It's also polished enough to wear around town.
Great Technical Piece
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Small
- Height: 5'8"
- Weight: 125lbs
I tried this jacket out for two weeks and love it! I wore it around town, on a cold hike, and under my ski jacket on a cold day.
The fit of this jacket is spot on! It hit me right at mid hip and the sleeve length was perfect! It has articulated elbows which allowed me to move very freely, which I really liked. It is also still very flattering, it has a slimmer fit and the baffles are placed in a such a way that I think it adds to how flattering the jacket is.
It is super warm and so light! I can't believe a jacket can be so warm and so low profile!
Altogether a great outdoor piece that I think can be worn around town as well!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: Large
- Height: 5'9"
- Weight: 145lbs
Love this coat as it is warm, functional and comes in a rad color. I sized up on purpose wanting it to go over many layers which it does, however it still is a little bit big for me. Overall great quality and happy with this coat.
- Fit: True to size
This jacket has a lot of features for a micro puff. Lots of draw cords to help with adjustment. High pockets work great with a climbing harness or backpack. It seems to be more abrasion resistant and water resistant compared to other jackets in the same category. Fit is long but true to size. The range of motion with this jacket is amazing.
