We backcountry skiers and splitboarders should know beacons like we know the back of our gloves, so Mammut designed the Barryvox Beacon with an incredibly intuitive design so we can master it quickly. It features a single switch, single button, and separate flagging button for simple, reliable handling that we got the hang of after a few beacon drills. With a triple antenna, the Barrvox boasts an impressive 70-meter digital range that's just as large as most top-end beacons out there.
The Barryvox shows distance, direction, and number of burial victims in an easy-to-see, goggle-friendly display. In search mode, the Barryvox automatically switches back into send mode if the beacon's been still for four minutes, just in case we get in an accident while looking for a victim. Mammut included alkaline batteries and a carry case that keeps the beacon close to your chest.

Good range, functionality, reliability, and durability. Only knock is the speed compared to BCAs.

Great and Reliable
This is my second Barryvox and I can not be happier with this product. It’s small and light and the harness is comfortable. As someone who does 30-40 days touring a year i look for something that’s reliable and straightforward. I trust the Barryvox and look forward to using one for this upcoming season. It’s hard to find a beacon at a better price with as many features.

It could save your life
I use this in the cascades around Oregon. It is everything you need in a beacon and I would recommend if you are a trained recreational explorer. It works well and has a long battery life. It did take a little to get used to how it clips into the harness. Anyone from beginner to intermediate can use this, but it may not have the multi search tools you would want as a guide. This is a great essential that could even be a backup for your main beacon.

Easy to learn, reliable
We’re in our 2nd year of backcountry skiing and have found this beacon to be very straightforward and easy to learn. We also found that almost all our friends, including the guides, use this beacon so it helps us all trust one another’s readings. It works well for beginners and experts alike.

Great beacon for the price
Have done some practice runs with this beacon and find the directional interface easy to read and accurate. Love the lock out function the power/search/send switch. Will be doing more testing at Revelstoke this winter. So far so good.

Solid Option
Simple, easy, effective. I've used the Barryvox several times on back and side country excursions. The chest strap is effective and allows for easy access while staying comfortable. It's very simple and the mechanical lock ensures there's no chance of going into search mode during the descent (unless you intend to of course). Great for beginners - I don't need bells and whistles and this product is a great value.
