    Your nickname is "spider."

Ever since you were a kid, you've been enamored with that boy who was bit by a spider and then turned into a hunky superhero. Now you can join him in wall scaling and building climbing (so long as it's in your climbing gym) with the La Sportiva Women's Oxygym Climbing Shoe firmly fixed upon your foot. The female-specific fit makes this shoe narrower with a lower overall volume compared to men's shoes. Whether you're a novice or a certifiable gym rat, this shoe gives you all-day comfort and the confidence necessary to stretch like your arachnid idol.

Crafted from synthetic WashTex fabric, this shoe shouldn't stretch too much, even after you spend two straight weeks working out a tough top-rope route indoors. Minimal asymmetry and a neutral profile make it easy to wear this sticky shoe for hours on end while you work slabby under-vert problems or slightly over-vert routes. The round toe takes to a variety of surfaces, and braving an actual outdoor rock for a wee bit of cragging doesn't require a separate shoe. The patented hook-and-loop closure system gives you two points of adjustment for a highly personal fit. Slip-lasted construction takes away a bit of stiffness so your wait for the wall isn't an agonizing experience.

FriXion RS rubber on the bottom is the stickiest sole La Sportiva makes. AirTex Silver lining manages foot moisture and minimizes stink by creating a hostile environment towards odor-causing bugs. The 1.8mm LaspoFlex midsole gives this shoe a thin shot of torsional rigidity while protecting your footsteps from the ground below. An anti-shock EVA heel insert means you can actually walk more than two steps in this shoe without falling on the ground in paw pain. WashTex fabric lets you throw this shoe in the washing machine when it starts to move up the wall on its own.

It is an ok shoe. Meant for beginners. I got it and it is not the best for smearing, toe/heel hooks, and small foot holds. The smell part of the shoe is not true and the velcro has a limit space. My foot is narrower so the velcro barley says on.

    Great shoes!

Bought these for my Girlfriend and she loves them! She just started climbing so we have only tested them out in the gym and she noticed the improved grip and feel, compared to the rental shoes, right away. I got her a half size smaller than her street shoe size and they fit perfect. I climb in La Sportivas as well and am really pleased with the brand overall

    First climbing shoes

After reading shoe reviews, talking to friends who climb and trying on a handful of shoes I landed on these puppies. I ordered them a size and a half smaller than normal (according to their chart) and couldn't be happier. I'm really happy with the fit, colors, and ability to take these off between routes at the gym.
Pros: good fit, pretty colors, easy to take off, price
    Cons: synthetic material traps sweat

    Amazing Beginner-Inter Shoe *note sizing

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love my new Oxygym's! They fit my feet comfortably and I have difficult feet to fit: very narrow and high arches but a wide toe box. Other climbing shoes that were my size made my toes cross one on top of the other- obviously painful and ill-fitting for me. I've already worn these multiple times since their recent delivery and they're fantastic- great grip, form, lightweight, and comfortable. My friend ordered a pair, too, and also has been loving them. *Only thing, the sizing chart on here is incorrect. I wear an 8.5 and 41 are the correct 8.5 size for women. My friend, who is an 8, wears the 40.5. Every place I've climbed, that uses the LaSportiva women's, the sizes I just wrote correlate with what they have listed. Inside these shoes, they also have a tag that says 41 and 8.5 for the sizing. I'd look to the men's sizing on the chart listed for your correct size in the women's shoe until it is fixed. The shoe is worth it. ")

    Great Looking Shoe, Wrong Size...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

I just received this shoe and couldn't be happier with the way they looked! I ordered the 41.5's, given that I normally wear 10 to 10.5 in running shoes and thought I would need to size down. This idea came from being able to wear rental Red Chili Session VCR's in a size 9.5 at the gym (I'm a beginner climber by the way). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to size these correctly and my toes were absolutely crunched even though I could get them on, so I had to return them. Despite this, I just purchased these bad boys in a larger size, as the colors are amazing and they felt good on (Ordered size 42). Let's hope when I use them at the gym that they perform as good as they look!

    Great Beginner or Gym Burner

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Girlfriend was sick of going through her nice shoes in the gym. Picked up a pair of these and they are great! Comfortable and definitely will last longer than her more expensive shoes. The more expensive shoes are a bit more sticky on the sole and huge the foot better but, its painful to see the rubber wear off on those plastic holds!

    Great shoes!

I bought these shoes for my sister and she had this to say about them - "I LOVE these climbing shoes!!! They fit amazing and very comfortable. I wear a size 5.5-6. And I got 36.5. I never had a pair of climbing shoes that are so great. Two thumps up! "

    Just right

The Oxygym is a great shoe for an intermediate climber. Perfect for someone who doesn't want something to aggressive but also is not sloppy. They fit true to size. I know it says that they are a gym shoe however I have climbed outside multiple times and am absolutely happy with them.

    Wonderful beginner shoe

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I absolutely love these! I recently started climbing and these have worked out beautifully. Very true to size and they work best with narrow feet. I love that they are washable because i don't like stinky shoes. Great shoe. I'm sure as i get more advanced i'll grow out of these but they work for now

    These don't stick AT ALL

I LOVE La Sportiva. I have two pairs of Mythos that I rotate as one needs to get re-soled, and I am dying for some TC Pros and some Muiras to replace my 5.10 sport climbing shoes. I bought these because I was sick of wasting my good shoes in the gym and blowing through toes super quickly.

These may be a great shoe for a beginner because they may be durable, but they are SO slippery that I don't think I would even recommend them to a 5.9 climber. The Evolve Elektra works much better, is almost as durable - you just have to deal with them smelling awful. ;)

I was warming up bouldering in these and I just simply slipped off an easy V2. My foot just slipped out from under me. So then I tried to use them on top rope and had the same problem. I looked like I was trying to ice skate up the walls. And they absolutely DO NOT smear at all.

Super disappointed in these shoes. I didn't get them on Backcountry because I had blown through my 5.10s and wanted them immediately, but figured I'd review here because it's where I make most of my gear purchases, and wanted to warn others because I had looked at the reviews here and they didn't prepare me! These are SLIPPERY!!!

PS fit-wise, they're great. I didn't size down a full size like I usually do, I went with the size that was comfortable out of the box, and I think that will remain the right size.

    Good Beginner/Gym shoes

My lady loves these shoes. She's a beginner and climbs roughly 3 times a month. We sized them close to her street shoe size based on that frequency and the fact that they're synthetic and are not likely to stretch. She has a narrow foot so the narrow toe box on these shoes doesn't cause her much trouble. They do have a tag stating that the shoes can be washed though I'm still scared to do so. The shoe has moderately sticky rubber and having the rand separate the toe and heel rubber helps her to place her feet a little better.

Sizing on these can be tough

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

When I first saw these come out onto the market I was really stoked about the color. I really like them quite a bit. Here is some feedback I have to share about the shoe:

Downside, they are hard to size. After much deliberating and trying on of different sizes I went with the 37.5 (I generally wear a size 6.5 for reference.) The toe box is a little narrow for my wide foot, so where as I would generally go with a size 37 in these shoes, I sized up a half size to give my little piggies a little more room to breathe. Even with the 37.5 they are a little snug, which is desired in a climbing shoe like this.

This shoe is great for long lead routs and gym climbing. They are even good for some light bouldering if you don’t want something too aggressive. The sole give you some great traction on the rock, and I trust my foot to stick the hold in this shoe. This is a great first climbing shoe that someone could progress in and really get a good feel for climbing and the rock. They also seem really durable, so it’s a good bank for your buck.

Cons: (or pros depending on how you look at it)
The material on these shoes does not stretch; another reason to size up a half size. So if they are comfortable from the get go, they will stay pretty uncomfortable.

    Tough rubber!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Great gym shoe! the rubber is super thick per lasportiva norm and handles great on the tough walls of a gym! If you are looking for a good shoe that is not super aggressive I would recommend this shoe! If you know you are going to keep climbing on a regular basis but are just starting this would be a great shoe to start with.

    Sweet First Shoe

I ended up getting the women's version of this shoe (gender norms be damned!) as I was right between sizes in the Men's version, and this one seemed to fit perfectly. I've done mostly indoor climbing so far, as well as a few outdoor lines, and these shoes have held up well. Good grip, good fit, nice style. A real solid beginner shoe.

I have yet to clean them in the washer, so I can't comment to that, but will update once I've washed them. Otherwise, a great shoe!

    Oh so happy

I really dig climbing in these shoes indoors and outdoors. My first pair lasted over a year and were climbed in outdoors many, many times. This past winter, I was bouldering out in Rhode Island with a few buddies who were all complaining about their feet slipping meanwhile I had no such problem infact I felt as if my shoes were gripping to the rock better than usual. For the most part, they run true to size but it might help to downsize a half size. They are comfortable but not too comfortable. I would definitely say you get your money's worth with these shoes.
