Turn landfill waste into reusable metal in seconds.

Spent Jetboil fuel canisters are recyclable as long as you use the CrunchIt Fuel Cansiter Recycling Tool to safely vent the pressurized butane before you toss them in the appropriate bin. Reduce your impact on the planet that you live to explore with this can-opener-shaped tool. Designed to relieve the pressure from your butane Jetpower canisters (and some similar models) and easily puncture the housing with the CrunchIt’s sharp stainless steel tooth. Then you can recycle it as tin or steel with most local programs.

Help the Environment! It's Super Easy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used to have a pile of old isobutane canisters in the back of my closet collecting dust and wasting space because I didn't know how to get rid of them in a safe manner. Now they're gone and I can fill my closet with more outdoor gear! The tool is super easy to use and you can recycle those old canisters and make mother nature happy. Do the right thing!

It is just the right thing to do

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is so inexpensive. Everyone who uses canister fuel should own and use one. It is just the right thing to do to make the canister inert before disposal and you know have the opportunity for recyclability.

    A must-have tool

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Those old fuel containers are dangerous to just throw into the recycling bin. Make sure you dispose of them safely. This tool really does the trick. It safely pops a hole in the canister.

    RECYCLE

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

That pile of empty cans in the back of your gear room isn't going anywhere, but it should! A couple twists of this tool and those cans are ready to be dropped in the recycle bin.

Straight forward and does the job

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This handy little tool is used to punch a couple holes in an empty fuel canister so you can recycle the thing! I felt like this was safer than a hammer and a screw driver. No complaints...pretty straight forward.

    In addition to opening beers...

...this little guy can also puncture Jetboil (and other) fuel canisters for safe disposal/recycling. From Jetboil website:

    - Rugged stainless steel construction

    - Safely vents fuel prior to puncturing

    - Bottle opener and jet orifice wrench integrated into handle

    - Clips onto carabiner or key ring for convenience

The can-opener-shaped tool is sharp - sharp enough that I wouldn't attach this tool to a key ring and stick it in my pocket!

    In addition to opening beers...

    Easy to use.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is really easy to use and makes recycling canisters easy. You can go with out it and use other tools you have but jetboil is starting to include these with some of their canisters so if you pick up one of those you get this with it so why wouldn't you use it?

    Ingenious Idea

Don't mind spending a couple of bucks to help me recycle my fuel canisters. I had a stack of empties in my garage waiting to take to the appropriate place, now I can just recycle them easily. Not much you could do to improve this product...unless it could open a beer too.

Highly recommend this for anybody who uses canisters.

      RRR!

Unless you happen to be a villan from Captain Planet, you should probably have one of these. Nice to have a product to help me help the planet!

Does this work on the snowpeak giga power...

Does this work on the snowpeak giga power canister?

        Best Answer

Yes, it will. You thread it on to the EN 417 Lindal valve, bleed it out if you need to, then rotate to puncture a few times. That standard is what you'll find on all the major brand canisters like Jetboil's.

A jab or two with a pocket knife works well, too. Canister walls are thin.
