A long, fast, river running boat.
Jackson Kayak's Karma Unlimited Kayak is a boat built for speed. Building off of the successful hull design of the Karma and Zen creek boats, this full-length river runner provides the speed of a racing boat combined with the protection of a full-featured white water kayak. This boat is ideal for creek racers, and those looking to make extended wilderness floats.
The Karma's upswept bow is designed to keep the front of the boat high above waves, while the peaked deck slices through pockets into eddy lines. The narrow planing of the hull allows for exceptional speed when paddling through boils and eddies, and the high parting line enhances the overall stability of the boat, also allowing for some extra storage space for multi-day river trips. The Karma Unlimited comes equipped with Jackson Kayak's Sweet Cheeks seat, as well as reinforced hip pads. The boat also comes fitted with the Uni-shock bulkhead, which is designed to absorb impact, so your ankles don't have to.

Karma vs Karma Unlimited

A detail shot of my Jackson Karma Unlimited.
Here is a photo I snapped of my buddy boofing Stateline Falls on the Watauga River in his 2015 Jackson Karma Unlimited!
Time to go fast!
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Out of all my kayaks or all the kayaks I've been in, this is my favorite! It is just pure fun!
Now after saying that, this is a specialty boat. Its made to go fast and that's what it does. For an all around one quiver boat, I'd probably go with something else, but for a race or overnight boat, this one is a blast.
Unfortunately for this review, I can't compare it to the other long boats out there as this is the only one I have paddled, but what I can say is this one makes the transition from a short boat to a long boat very simple. I had never been in a longboat before I got into this one and from the first time I slid into the river, I felt comfortable in it. It definitely doesn't fell 12' long. It paddles much like a short boat, you just need to be a tad quicker on turns and be aware of the extra couple feet you have.
At 185lbs and 6'-3", I am near the top of the size range and I have no problems fitting in or floating in this thing. It is very stable and easy to get on edge. And once you are on edge it will still make those tight turns. It rolls easier then a short boat and tracks like a ocean kayak. And the most important of all, you can still boof the hell out of it!
I have paddled this boat on rivers from the big water of the Gauley to the river running waves of the Nolichucky Gorge, to the tight creek drops of the Watauga and it performs great on all of it.
So if you are a up and coming boater and ready to make the move to a specialty boat, I highly recommend the Karma Unlimited! It is an absolute blast to paddle and there is nothing more fun then linking up the moves in your favorite rapids faster then you ever have before!
