3x owner and still my top choice
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have three of these bags and love them. I initially chose this bag simply because I like the look of this bag better than the BD, Petzl, and Camp bags. I have no complaints about them. They have enough space to (snugly) fit a pair of crampons and a pair of gaiters, which works perfect for me because I typically only use gaiters to protect my pants from crampons. I've used them for a few seasons now and they are all still as good as new (note: I always use the Camp spike protectors when storing my crampons in these bags).
heavy, went with the BD bag
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
went with the BD bag instead. this one was heavy, and bigger than I needed for my BD cramons. construction felt good.
If you own crampons get this
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Pretty simple but also pretty awesome. I use my Grivel G10's for use with my snowboard boots on some splitboard mtn-ering stuff and this is a must. I mean I don't climb with my down jacket on, so this thing comes in handy. Good lashing points, it is a tight fit but then again I like that because I try to keep things to a minimum weight and size wise.
g12s are a perfect fit.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Just picked this up. Fits my G12's perfectly. Solid material, and good venting.
good for my Grivel G12, you can certainly hang the crampons out side of your pack, but with this bag it's just much safer to keep it inside.
Fits my G10 Wides
I like this little bag. It works well and is just the right size.
How much does it weight?
Does this have any kind of plastic sheet inside for protection or is it just basically the fabric providing pro against the points of the crampons ?
Can these fit a pair of BD Contact...
Can these fit a pair of BD Contact Crampons?
Pretty sure they would but, http://www.backcountry.com/black-diamond-crampon-bag?rr=t definitely would fit your BD's.
do these have strap loops for securing...
do these have strap loops for securing this outside the pack for those occasional gear explosion days?
Yes, there are loops on the top and bottom of this bag which you could put ropes/straps through to secure to the outside of your pack.
is this coming back in stock anytime...
is this coming back in stock anytime soon?
We do have some on order from Grivel, we may see them around the end of June, but it's really difficult to provide an accurate arrival date.
Continue checking back as we should see them coming in!
