You wear the Gregory Targhee 45 Backpack to help get you deep into the solitude of the backcountry. Its VertFlex suspension system both stabilizes your load and allows the torsional flexibility you need to ski dynamically. The molded back panel sheds snow so your gear stays dry, zips open for access, and Gregory's classic lumbar pad pushes the weight to your hips for all-day comfort on those powder-capped peaks. Both your avalanche gear and your main compartment are easy to access—thanks to the front pocket and rear barn door panel—even when you have your skis, snowboard, or snowshoes strapped on.
With reinforced Hypalon where you strap your skis and highly durable HD nylon reinforcements at critical areas, the Targhee will be on your back for many years in the backcountry. Its harness has a slim profile to ease your mobility on the slopes, and the insulated hydration sleeve prevents water from freezing in frigid weather. Flaps and loops for your helmet and ice axes leave you well-prepared for skiing in the backcountry safely and efficiently.

Great Medium Sized Pack
very good quality pack: well made and very adjustable. The only thing I would change would be would be the bottom to be slightly larger. I love the zippered panel on the back that allows you to put the water bladder inside with ease.

Gregory Targhee 45
This is my second Gregory pack for shorter 2-3 day excursions, especially in winter, for which the Targhee 45 is designed with ski and board straps. It works fine in summer, too. When I got it, I loaded it up with 60 lbs of weights and trotted up and down the steps at Red Rocks here in Colorado. It's a really wonderful feeling when you've found a great pack, like a great friend, which they are, like my Gregory Expedition that I've had for over 20 years. With the summer sales going, I got the Alpinisto 35 for my gf in crevasse blue. She's a bc girl and really likes it even for short day hikes. It's also a snowpack for 1-2 day excursions. Our Dynastar Cham 107's fit fine in the straps with tech bindings.

Great Features Awful Quality
Initially, when I got this backpack, I was very excited as had everything I was looking for for overnight trips to ski Mount Washington in New Hampshire. I have taken this pack on one day trip to Mount Washington, where it did perform well in the sense that it carried everything I needed and allowed me to climb up the head wall and felt comfortable skiing down. however, the big problem arises the quality of the bag. After getting home from my day trip where is very mindful with the bag as it is my first date with it, I started to unpack and noticed there was already a tear in the top hood of the bag again after just a day of use. I am very disappointed in the quality of this bag it is ridiculous that it's quality is so poor there's already a tear after one day. I definitely would not recommend this back to anyone if they want a product that lasts at all.

Great as an accessory bag for travelling.
I use it for travelling.Used it as carry on to use on over head bin. No issues. Straps were comfortable on shoulder as well

I love this pack
I've already owned the Targhee 32 for backcountry skiing for about 15 years and love it so much, I bought the Targhee 45 for search and rescue. I appreciate the organization and dual access to the main compartment via the back or top. This may be the perfect search and rescue backpack.

Gregory Targhee 45 L pack
This is replacing my BD Anarchist pack that I use for hut trips. It's the same volume but more easily expandable with the floating lid. I also like the dual access through the top or zipper panel. It should manage sleeping bag and 4 days of food. First hut trip next month. We shall see. I had it out for a day tour. A lot roomier than the 28 L pack I had been using. Nice to have the extra space. I don’t have to lash on parka while climbing. Easier access to shovel and probe. Carries well. A winner so far.

Touring pack
Amazing pack. Very well thought out with all the bells and whistles but nothing too complicated or flimsy. Great deal for the price too.

What is the minumum hieght of the backpack when it is not fully loaded with gear? I am looking for a durable pack that fits carry-on. My old carry-on backpack states its 30" H, but I can make it 22" H and its works fine for the overhead. I'm a Large.

When will the size medium be back in stock for this pack? Is there a new version coming out in 2022? I can’t find this pack in stock at any retailers in Canada. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
