Why We Like The Crown3 60L Backpack
The Crown3 60L Backpack ensures we can get everything we need into the backcountry as easily as possible. This backpack is incredibly light, and it features a removable frame sheet and lid to drop the pack's weight even more. When we bring the lid along, it converts into a lumbar pack for short adventures away from basecamp or can be worn on the chest for even weight distribution. We dig this pack's fit-for-anyone design; its selection of torso sizes is great for hikers of every height, and the Re-Fit hip belt offers 16 inches of adjustment.

Awesome Light-ish pack
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought it for hiking and canoe camping this summer as a lighter upgrade to my current pack. Ended up taking it out on a 4 day winter trip in Northern MN to break it in and it fit all my gear with a good amount of space left. The roll top feature came in handy for this, ill assume my summer kit will be much smaller in volume and that'll be nice. Not bad for a lightweight framed backpack. Was a comfortable carry over decent mileage for the most part. The only things I don't like is it's a little too big for my kit and I'm not a fan of the brain.

I typically could care less for negative reviews on items I own. If it works for me - it works. If it doesn't work for you - then it doesn't. However, the other reviewer's thoughts on the bag seem really unwarranted and ignorant. Yes, the bag is technically a white color but no.. the manufacturer is not wrong when they say the bag is not white. It's misleading - yes but not wrong. The bag is UNDYED, It was NOT dyed white. The color of the UNDYED fabric is naturally white-ish and it is NOT DYED WHITE! It looks exactly like the picture - some parts are bright white while some are off-white and some are grey. The straps are long - yes, that is because it's intended for you to strap gear and not just act as a compression strap. The longest strap is the middle strap that keeps the main compartment closed. If the other review had actually used some critical thinking - they'd maybe discovered this. The backpack is a roll top with clips and then it has another super long strap in the middle then the brain goes over this. This long strap that the reviewer complained about is great for when you need to strap a tent to the top or a bear canister. You can then tuck the excess straps away. It's better to have a longer strap to give you options to strap down gear rather than straps that are too short and risk being useless! The yellowing is maybe because THIS PACK IS UNDYED and NOT DYED WHITE. So if I'm defending this bag so much - why didn't I give it a full 5 stars? Because there are some issues that I think warrant negative points and not just opinions based on ignorance. The negatives I have with the bag are: 1. The front pouch mesh is extremely loose. Anything you put in there may fall out if you do not really cinch the bag down or pack it full so there's outward pressure. The material is already stretchy which can make the bag feel cheap when it's both stretchy and loose. 2. The inner pouch that holds onto the frame sheet is oddly tight. When zipping up, it stretches the fabric to the point where it looks like the seams are receiving an unnecessary amount of tug which kind of causes some concern should I pack the bag more. I have no doubt the seems will hold but it's still concerning. 3. The straps are a tad on the thin side at only half an inch in width and the buckles are small. I've had the buckle unbuckle when cinching down my bag (my base weight is only about 18 lbs!) I would have liked to see a more robust buckle and wider straps.

Bright White

The tags will tell you “This pack isn’t white, it’s not dyed.” Let me tell you, this pack is so white it can be seen from Mars. Nothing like the picture. Way too many straps that are way too long adding unnecessary weight to an otherwise decently light pack. There are some spots where the pack has “yellowed” and it’s kinda gross. I returned it.
