Small all around, and not great color

Familiarity:

I'm 6'1". Bought the red/black one, in XXL. I normally wear XL. But this jacket is super tight all around, including chest and around the biceps.. It is also super short, not coming quite to the waist. I expect it would constantly ride up while being used. The color is also off. Not really red like in the phone, but more of a wash-out orange. Not very attractive. An additional star because the workmanship does look quite good. But it is way smaller than the sizing in every dimension - width, length, and sleeve circumference. Definitely sending it back.

It is warm!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This jacket is warmer than I thought it would be. For windy days in the 40 degree area, I just pair it up with a Castelli Flanders wool base layer. If I match it up with anything warmer, it just keeps you too warm. It does lock in sweat on your chest. The back has a section that is breathable. I also found mine to run large. I bought an XL U.S. thinking that I might have to layer it up so I should have gotten a L, but it is still ok. sleeves will fit 35inch sleeve lengths. Jacket is lightweight, warm, stops wind. The only negative is that when I wear it, it makes a lot of wind noise. I think this would be good all the way down in the 30 degree temps. Looks like excellent quality. I wish it had zippered side vents to air out the chest area a bit.

Careful with size when ordering

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

The jacket looks great, better than previous year's versions. I had to return though and take the hit on postage for ordering too small. Read the sizing carefully - I just looked at the end of the sizing details and chose L not realizing that was just the EU size and the US size for the jacket was actually M. I checked back at the previous year's model I had bought and the EU L was equivalent to US L so last year's jacket was a perfect fit. This year's version is too tight. Unfortunately the next size up wasn't available in the color I wanted.

Comfortable Jacket

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is my second gore tex phantom. The first one seems to have more gore tex material so I think it's a little bit more protective ,this new one is more comfortable specially on the arms. I have ridden in 30 F weather and the jacket is doing a great job keeping you comfortable
