    For roads less traveled.

We love a good pair of super nerdy, minimalist road shoes, but are willing to concede that there are more appropriate choices when things lean towards the dusty and adventury. That said, we aren't willing to sacrifice on style or functionality, which puts the Giro Men's Rumble VR Cycling Shoes right at the top of our adventure cycling footwear wish list. Pairing classic lace-up style that's perfectly at home at your favorite local breakfast café with a grippy sole and two-bolt cleat compatibility, the Rumble VRs are up for everything from last-minute gravel excursions to days long epics to leisurely mid-week rides through the city.

Giro fashions the Rumble VR's uppers from a mix of synthetic fabrics and mesh, blended to provide a balance of protection and breathability that'll have your feet turning in comfort through dusty side roads, rocky access points, and cloud-clearing sunbursts. The lace-up closure system isn't just there for style, but also offers precise adjustability for an impeccably customized fit that minimizes pressure points.

Underfoot, a molded shank gives the sole needed stiffness to efficiently transfer power into speed while leaving enough flex for comfortable walkability during hike-a-bike and coffee shop situations. To cap things off, a Vibram Rubber Outsole provides sure-footed grip while an EVA midsole offers comfortable support.

    • Grippy Vibram rubber outsole
    • Lace closure for a customized fit

    • Compatible with two-bolt cleats

    Amazing Bike Shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wanted a shoe that worked well but also didnt look horrible like 90% of the bike shoes...This shoe gives me everything. I have no problem walking with it even on brick. It is quite rigid which works really well for biking but also looks great! I normally wear 11.5-12 so I decided to go with the 12(46). definitely a good call as I get more space in the toe box but not so much that it slides around.
I got the blue one because I thought it looked better (and it does) but to be honest, I think if I did it again, I'd get the black one as Its hard to get the grease marks of the material...

It works miracles in the rain. My socks were soaked and definitely water in my shoes but literally took a day and it was all dry.
the toe vent is pretty big so my toes do get cold in the new england weather. I don't know if it's just my toes are cold, or the support in the shoe, or my feet, but sometimes I feel like my toes get numb from poor circulation or cold. I wonder if a toe cover would solve that issue. Honestly, these are nit picking, I love these shoes.

    Great shoe

I bought these because they didn't cost a lot and didn't look totally like bike shoes. Put them on and forgot I was wearing them and noticed I had them on in the grocery store. Very comfortable, look ok, work well on the bike and great price. What more could you want?

Love that the laces give my arches room

      • Fit: True to size

Searched for a shoe that wasn't the to tight on my arch the Velcro all felt way to tight and didn't have much give. These work well for me and love that they are comfortable to walk on with no clacking of the Cleats. Mostly use this for my spin classes.

      Great bikepacking shoe

I used this shoe on a 300 mile Baja bikepack. The sole is stiff enough for good power transfer but also flexible enough for when walking around looking for Pacifico and fish tacos. The laces held my feet secure and the mess was great when the temps climbed.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

Tried this shoe on and it felt great for an around the town clipless shoe. Wasn't quite what I was looking for in regards to a strictly trail riding shoe. Mesh toe looks like it would vent well and felt like a sneaker more than a MTB shoe.

      Favorite Casual Bike Shoe

These are my favorite casual bike shoe. The best parts: SPD compatibility, wide toe box, style that doesn't scream 'LOOK AT ME I'M A BIKE SHOE'.

The sole isn't very lugged/agressive so I wouldn't recommend these for trail shoes, but if you want something that you can walk around in after the ride then these are an excellent choice.

The exterior has held up well to weather and some trail usage, they seems to breath well and I've comfortably worn them all summer in to the shoulder season's upper 30's (with good socks). There are nice little features like elastic straps to hold the laces that really make this a great shoe.

These showed up when I searched for commuting cycling shoes that are "wide" - don't see wide on your chart. I wear an 11.5 W.

      Hey Mike!

These are not a wide-specific shoe. Sorry for the confusion! Sometimes the website will bring up non-wide shoes when you search for them. Please feel free to reach out to me at if you have any more questions!

      Unanswered Question

Are the soles sticky at all for use on a flat pedal? I notice in one of the pictures there is an insert over the bolt holes that matches the sole.
