    Requisite for shredding dirt.

We've all had uncomfortable chafing and irritation ruin a perfectly good trail ride, whether it's winding high above treeline in the mountains or pummeling over rocks on a desert mesa. Designed to keep this sort of irritation from ruining your ride, the Giro Men's Base Liner Bib Short delivers plush padding and form-fitting support that layers seamlessly underneath your trail baggies. Wicking mesh bibs stabilize these bib shorts in an upright fashion, but without annoying irritation or excessive body heat slowing you down.

Lightweight, form-fitting fabrics with ample stretch provide moisture-wicking comfort and uninhibited flexibility, complete with breathable mesh panels for cooling airflow while you're exerting yourself on the trail. Giro's Ase chamois provides plush, anatomically contoured padding that dissipates incoming trail vibration and chafing in the saddle. Another stand-out feature are three storage pockets along the upper back, so you can tuck all your riding accessories underneath your jersey in low-profile style.

    • Eliminates irritation and chafing from everyday trail rides
    • Fabric supports key muscle groups while preventing irritation
    • Breathable mesh panels for cooling airflow while riding hard
    • All-mesh bib straps keep bib shorts firmly in place
    • Ase chamois for plush, anatomically contoured padding
    • 3 expandeable storage pockets store goods under jersey
    • Leg grippers keep bottoms from riding up while pedaling
    • Fly opening allows for bathroom breaks on the trail

Great bib short for the price

Really like this bib! The pockets are great! They keep your flat kit and water bottle super snug so there is no jostling around as you hit rocks and bumps. The chamois is nice as well. I have taken it out on some 2-3 hour rides and the chamois has done the job. If you are looking to spend under $100 on some bib shorts this is a great way to go.

    Love the tight pockets

Pretty nice bib liner! The chamois is decent, but I love how tight the rear pockets are. Keeps a flat kit, water bottle, or whatever else you need secure from falling out or rattling about. Great deal for $80!

    Couldn't be happier

I won't lie....these are my first bib liners. I have always used my typical bib shorts for under my baggies but I could feel the heat radiating from my legs. That is why I wanted to give these a try. I was pleasantly surprised with these liners. They are very breathable! The chamois seemed a little short in the front, however once you get in the riding position they felt great. They even have a fly for when nature calls on the trail! I've ridden in these for a little over 2 hours on a few rides and they did the job great! I will be purchasing more of these no doubt! The pockets on the back are perfect for a phone or flat kit. I love that I was able to carry everything I needed on the ride without using a pack or strapping stuff to my frame. I would highly recommend these to anyone!

    Good for hot laps

I've been using my trainer as a proving ground for different bibs this spring, and have put 2-1 hour session in on the Giro Base liners. The liners are lightweight, and breath well. Chamois is what you would expect for an $80 short/bib. That rear pockets are a nice feature, and are great for stashing a bottle or flat kit for a quick hour lap or so. I'd say the max for me on these is probably an hour, to maybe a 2 hour ride. Any longer than that, and I'll be reaching for a dedicated bib short.

    Great MTB Bib Liners!

These bib liners are awesome! I've been using the Pearl Izume bib liners for the past few season, which are also great, but these Giro ones have a nicer chamois and a fly! They are exactly what I have been looking for! The chamois is great, the rest of the material is nice and light and stretchy, the pockets along the back hold everything you need (spare bottle, tool, snacks, key, whatever). The only negative compared to the PI bibs is that the straps are a little more noticeable on these. They aren't uncomfortable, you can just feel they are there more. Probably just a matter of getting used to them though.

    Room for your stash

At first glance I was a little leery about giving these a try. I wear bibs all the time on the road bike but for the MTB I wasn't sure if that's what I wanted to roll with. What sealed the deal into giving these a run was the three pockets on the back of the bib. I like to try and get away without carrying a pack while riding and for most short rides it’s not an issue, but once getting past an hour or so I need another water bottle and my frame only holds one. The pockets allow me to carry another water bottle, phone, snacks etc in the bib pockets rather than my short pockets which makes for a much more comfortable ride. Once under way you don’t even really notice that you have a bunch of gear stuffed in the back pockets.
I'm a 34" waist in my chubby trim and looking at the size chart that puts me in the large range. The top portion of the bib is really thin, see through and feels like nothing. They don't have a lot of stretch in the straps but for me I was fine with it and it fit my body type fine. 5’10” 32” inseam. The other thing I noticed is that the chamois stops short where most road bibs extend farther forward and that it has a fly like a regular pair of undies, so you can go to the bathroom very easily.
I loaded up the pockets and headed out. I even found a way to attach the chin bar of my helmet to the pockets so I didn't need my pack to carry that either.

I would have went with a 5 star review but this is the first time out in the bib and I feel there is a bit of room for improvement in the elasticity of the straps.
