Not all season

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

This season, I've started wearing base layers on a consistent basis underneath my cycling clothing. I purchased this base layer to match a set of Giordana FR-C bibs and jersey. It fits well underneath the jersey but it is way too insulating to be an all season base layer. I find it warm even on days when the temperature is in the low to mid-60's and windy. Given this warmth, it does a decent job wicking sweat but I will definitely not be wearing during routine summer temperatures. Sizing is appropriate for Giordana's general jersey sizing.

Ehhhhhhhhh

I think I had a little too much confidence in Giordana banding when I sprung for this. I figured that it looked pretty swell for the price, and coming from the guys at Giordana, it had to be high quality. It isn't terrible, but it's pretty rough around the edges. Literally. Aside from doing a pretty lackluster job at keeping my warm and dry, it just feels... kinda low quality. I guess that's what you get for the price, but on something as critical as a baselayer, I would recommend looking at some higher-end options. A good essential item to keep you dry on cool weather rides. I admit I was surprised at the big difference this piece made in keeping me dry. The shirt is very thin and hardly noticeable, however, you will notice the extra warmth at once!

Great Base Layer

Light and airy feel, keeps sweat from the skin, and adds just a little extra layer for warmth on chilly mornings. When I have this on, I hardly notice it's there....the right sign of a good base layer. 5'10'' 165 lbs and the medium fit perfectly. Quality is exceptional as is most everything I've tried from Giordana.

Just perfect for California weather!

This base layer is perfect for both warm/hot weather and cool weather! It has a soft feel and wicks all the moisture so well that I never feel wet. Compared to the LG SF-2, I like the Giordana better. The LG SF-2 material feels more like teflon synthetic, but it does work well also at wicking moisture away from the skin. When the Giordana goes on sale I'll buy a few more.

Great piece for the price

I have the sleeveless and long sleeve versions of this base layer. I'm 5'7", 140lbs, and the small fits well next to my skin, but isn't uncomfortably tight. While other base layers use more technical fabrics, the polyester material this piece uses is comfortable next to your skin, and effectively wicks moisture away. I've used the long sleeve under a Gore Phantom jacket and been comfortable in the high 30s, and have used the sleeveless in 80 degree weather under a short sleeve jersey.
