The Keb Eco-Shells perform as promised
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Runs large
- Size Bought
- 6` 2"
- 170 lbs
FjallRaven is quality. Period. These pants paired with the Yupik parka kept a Louisiana boy dry and warm (paired with merino base layer) all day on the slopes. First day on a board so I had some good wipeouts sliding in the snow. Not a drop made it through! It was super simple to dump heat with the side zippers as well. The bottoms barely wouldnât zip and snap closed over my snowboard boots but enough to stay down and keep snow out and feet dry. They do run a bit large I am 6â2 and usually wear a 32 and these are extra long and fit like a 36 but itâs great for layering here in Colorado. The belt works great as well I didnât have to adjust it once. Iâm all around impressed!

Using them for rain pants
- I've used it several times
- True to size
- Size Bought
- 6` 1"
- 195 lbs
Obviously these are really expensive but they have a lot of great features that make them worth it. The full length side zippers are easy to use and transition smoothly. The medium weight and soft feel of the inside of the pants makes them a pleasure to wear. They feel like they'll repel water very well. The stronger material on the inside pant legs by your ankles is especially nice since that is where your wet, muddy boots usually spray or touch your legs while hiking. I found the zippered front pockets a nice size. The black plastic clip belt works well and I used it but you could remove it especially if you are wearing pants underneath with a belt on already. I am 6'1" and usually where a size 34 pants and I found the waist a good fit but they are a little too long and bunched up around my ankles. There is a built in gator system that a little hook clips onto your shoe laces to keep them down over your ankles and boots. This extra length is for that system. The major disappointment on this order is the glacier green is not even close to what it appears online. In person it is a royal blue. I posted a photo to show you it is definitely more of a vibrant blue than this cool dusk, matte turquoise color shown online. So that was unexpected. I would have gone black had I known the color was so off. These keb eco-shell trousers are an investment and if you treat them well they will last you a lifetime. It's nice knowing when you need to reach for the waterproof outdoor gear you have some legit Fjall Ravens to rely on.
