Noisy drag in your freehub is not only irritating to listen to, but it also can suck the speed right out of your ride. The best way to zap your ride back into its old quick-rolling self is with a generous slathering of Dumonde's Pro-X Freehub Grease. This freehub grease is dsigned to work with freehubs that require lightweight grease, but more lasting lubrication than your light oil can provide. It's created with Dumonde's Micro Resistant Complex Compounds, or MRCC, to provide superior lubrication and friction reduction, while maintaining a light viscosity. Unlike some other greases that can get a bit gummy when the temperatures drop, Pro-X Freehub Grease has been built to withstand plummeting mercury with smooth rolling performance all the way down to -30 degrees F, which makes it the ideal grease for those looking to embark on snowy fat-bike adventures.
Pro-X Freehub Grease is ideal for hubs that share lubrication between the freehub and wheel bearings, and Dumonde recommends that you follow your freehub manufacturer's specifications so you can be sure to dial in the perfect volume required to get your freehub rolling as smooth as butter.

Impressed! It really works
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Purchased this to apply to my I9 1/1 hubs, based on recommendation from I9. Super easy to apply, and it completely quieted my hubs. They produce about the same noise as an Onyx hub at this point, which is amazing. I purchased the 1 oz size, and given the amount I applied it should last me about 71 years. I will try to update the review once I've had a chance to put it through its paces, to see how long it lasts. UPDATE: have been running this grease for a month, and the quiet faded pretty quickly. After about 2-3 rides, it was back to 50% of the pre-grease volume, and after 2-3 more it was back to normal. Nonethless, I still prefer it to the oil and highly recommend for I9 (or other) hubs.

Hydra hubs barely audible
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Hydra hubs turned out to be pretty quiet in their stock setup, but when I put in some of this grease (i9 has a video on how to do it and it only takes a couple of minutes) they became nearly silent; they're still audible when riding on smooth surfaces at low speed but as soon as there's any other noise (wind, gravel, whatever) I can't hear them anymore. Edit: with some more time and warmer temperatures these have gotten a little louder again. They're still pretty quiet when it's cold but I'm guessing the grease gets less viscous and the hubs are louder as a result when it's warm out. I'm still pleased with this, but they're louder than they were initially.
