Armor-Flex protection and flexible Photo-Skyn cells keep this solar panel charging even under cloudy skies
The Dark Energy Spectre 8W is the panel to clip to a pack or drape over a tent while camp gets set up, lightweight enough at 9.5 ounces to justify the carry on a multi-day trip and IPX7 waterproof so a sudden downpour is not a crisis. Armor-Flex protection and the compact folded footprint work together here: the panel survives the abuse of exterior lash points on the way in, then folds flat enough to tuck into a lid pocket on the way out.
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The built-in sun meter tells me at a glance whether I've got the panel angled right, which matters more than people expect when the sun is low and the trees are close. Photo-Skyn cells keep trickling current even when clouds roll in, so I'm not losing charge time waiting for a clear sky."
