Lay the smackdown on winter's weather.

The Columbia Men's Ridge 2 Run II Pants love snowy winter weather. The waterproof breathable Omni-Tech membrane and fully taped seams mean you stay dry throughout all the winter storms. Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining integrates tiny silver specks along the pant's interior to retain warmth after the sun sets without adding any bulk to these pants.

Articulated knees let you duck, bend, and cruise all over the ski resort with the freedom of movement you require, a modern classic fit leaves plenty of room for layers galore on seriously chilly ski days, and vented zippers in the legs let out some steam in case you get too hot. Internal leg gaiters keeps snow off your boots, and Columbia reinforced the cuff guards to increase durability and longevity. Stash your snacks in the cargo pockets.

Great looking and fitting pants, run big

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Small Short
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 158lbs

These look great and fit great. My husband is 5ft 6in and weighs 158-160 and the Medium Short was a little big in the waist. We exchanged for the Small Short with high hopes. has great service, Aron helped me a ton with these.

Excellent ski pant at an excellent price

Just got the pants. Sizing accurate and comfortable. Used them in warmer ski weather and also super cold. Skinned up and skied down. They work great. Good venting when needed, good

      Great bang for your buck!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

These pants won't cost ya an arm and a leg... rendering these pants useless. Instead, for under $130, they have enough pocket space for your daily necessities, keeps you warm with Columbia's heat technology, but is still lightweight enough to be worn on those warmer days! I LOVE that these pants come in different lengths - that is a HUGE help to shorties like myself! I just wish that they came in a women's specific fit so I wouldn't have to order the men's version. The storm slope is a great option if your legs aren't super beefey! These are just a smidge baggy for my preference.

      Nice Pants

I've worn these about five times now, mostly out hunting pheasants. They fit well (run true to size.) I've mostly worn them in temperatures from 25 to 45 degrees. These are not good pants for very cold weather (below zero), and feel cold and clammy without a base layer. They also aren't very breathable (more waterproof than breathable.) They do work well in moderate cold (20-50 degrees) especially with an appropriate weight base layer. The reflective dots do seem to work, but not so much if you are inactive and not generating heat. These are not for ice fishing or sitting in a deer stand all day. They are waterproof, and for sure windproof. They do work well on windy drizzly days. They are comfortable to wear all day, but are a little noisy when you walk. All in all I'm happy with them, as a cool weather rain pant.

        Ready For The Snow

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: medium/reg
        • Height: 5'9"
        • Weight: 150lbs

I needed a good shell for the waist down and previous reviews sold me on these pants. I haven't had them long but I can say that they are warm with a good base layer underneath. The gaiters stay put over my muck boots. I like all the pockets, and the fact that the rears have zippers under the flaps. My waist is 31" and the mediums are perfect for me, allowing plenty of adjustment to compensate for more or less layers inside. I'm looking forward to using these this season!

        Snow pants

        • Height: 5'6"
        • Weight: 135lbs

There is plenty of pocket space, I almost don't need a backpack while skiing now. the size was good, and the color, the only issue I have is that the bottom of the snow pants are not as durable as I would like. I live in the east so I do a lot of skiing though shrubs and sticks and I have acquired a few small tears on the snow pants.

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
        • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my 17 year old brother to ski in. He has also been wearing them to shovel snow at the house. They are warm and keep him dry. I bought the Tweed print and was surprised how much I like the color with his black ski jacket. Columbia did a great job with the quality for the price.

Just like the ad! wearing nothing under!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium
        • Height: 5'10"
        • Weight: 160lbs

These pant are amazing. I always get hot while snowshoeing so I just wore the pants with nothing under. Snowing outside with sauna inside! I love these pants. I may need another pair for backup.

        The Perfect Ski Pant

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: S
        • Height: 5'9"
        • Weight: 150lbs

I've struggled with heat control in past snow pants I've owned. These pants do a great job of insulating while breathing relatively well. I run relatively hot but am glad to say that these pants allow air to circulate through when needed while being sturdy and warm enough to keep your legs cold when the temperature drops and winds pick up. Would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable, versatile pair of ski pants.

        Great ski pants

        • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave these pants as a gift. The color looks awesome and the fabric feels nice, but I'll have to update later with more information on how they fit and function.

        Excellent Well Rounded Pant

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size

The pants keep me dry and warm, usually only wearing one thin base layer underneath. The ventilation slots are well placed and no get in the way of skiing when unzipped ( as is the case with other pants). Worked as advertised with no complaints.

Amazing lightweight ski pant with warmth

I bought these as a gift for my dad! They are Super warm on the coldest days even though they are lightweight and thin. The ski pants get the job done. Pockets and zippers are well made! No complaints so far

          Very Good Pant

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: Meduim
          • Height: 6'0"
          • Weight: 170lbs

These pants rock! They just a shell pant so they are not the warmest but the Omni-Heat does seem to add a little bit to it. They are definitely waterproof and very durable. I love the mesh in the leg venting to keep snow out and let you dump heat when needed. Pockets are plentiful and hold my stuff secure all day.

I am 6' 170 lbs with 31" waist and with the adjustable waist loosened to its max I could just barley secure the snaps and they would pop open at on the slightest bump. The Medium fits me perfectly at the smallest adjustment.

These are a great pant that will keep you dry looking good on the mountain.

          Very Good Pant

          Perfect Ski Pants? YES

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: XL
          • Height: 6'2"
          • Weight: 200lbs

I've put close to thirty ski days and 10 or so winter hikes in sub zero temps with -30 wind chill in these pants and they amaze me every time.
For skiing they have great flexibility and range of motion and the Omni-Heat is awesome. I do tend to run a bit hotter than some and cannot recall ever being cold in these with one baselayer (Patagonia Capilene Midweights) in 0 degree temps.
Pants are very waterproof and windproof and the leg vents are awesome for relieving some heat when the sun gets up. All of the pockets are great though I did have one of the zippered pockets rip out.
Went with a regular length XL because I like the option to add more layers if I need to and the adjustable waist really gives versatility.
I would recommend these pants to anyone any time. I was looking at getting a pair of North Face pants as a second pair but realized all I really need is another pair of these.

          Great Value

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've put a solid amount of days on these pants this past season and I am happy with their performance. They are lightweight and very comfortable. While they do have the Omni-Heat on the inside, they are not super warm and I'd usually wear some long underwear when it was below 30 outside. They are also very waterproof as I had a day of rain skiing and I was the only one not soaked to the bone. The vents are great too as they allow you to cool down if you work up a sweat. Aside from a small tear in the groin region, they have held up great.

          great bang for the buck

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times
          • Fit: True to size

I bought these on sale and have now used them for skiing and snowboarding 5 times. They are lightweight, comfortable, have adequate pockets and vents, and they fit nicely over various ski, tele, and snowboard boots.

I'm 6'1" and 180 lbs. The large are the right length and the waist is adjustable enough to accomodate wearing with or without layers tucked in.

They're not the warmest, but I didn't expect them to be. With two pair of lightweight long underwear, they have been good down to about 15 degrees.

          Two part question:
          1) How are these for mountaineering (with a proper thermal layer)?
          2) I'm 5'9" with a size 28 or 30 waist. Should I get the small short or small regular?

What is the inseam on a Large Short pair and waist size? My husband wears 33waist and 30 inseam on regular paints.
