Tent pole problem.
Poles had to be inserted into soil to support the tent. Design flaw?

Nice tent, but the poles are flimsy and break
Bought this 2 person tent for camping when it's just me (2 is a stretch, even for smaller people). I normally camp in an REI Hobitat 6 that is fantastic and has served me well for many years. Compared to that tent, I have some serious problems with the design of this Coleman. First, the fiberglass poles are incredibly flimsy, as is the elastic cord. The cord broke on the first use, and one of the poles fractured. The description doesn't say what diameter the poles are, so I have to go measure to find the right replacement kit. Why not just sell replacement parts on the product page? Second, the poles go into a sort of key at the edges of the tent. But that means the tent pole are open at the ends. If you camp in sandy or soft dirt conditions, it's easy for your pole ends to become packed with dirt, and then the key won't fit in. Annoying. My Hobitat poles are closed at the ends, made of aluminum, thick cord, and the pointed ends go into sturdy grommets. I wish the Coleman had a design like that, it is super flimsy by comparison. Lastly, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the door pole in. It seems like it should go in the green edging to make the door rigid, but there is no opening. Yet I have an extra pole. It must be the door? Other than the flimsy poles and poor design of the pole ends, I do like this tent. If I could purchase a set of replacement poles in durable aluminum with studier cords, I would pay more.

Good tent. Broken pe
I got this tent in order to do some camping with my boys. We used it once in the backyard, then on an overnight. One of the main poles fractured at the insertion point while setting it up the second time. Dry, moderate ventilation in 40f temp. Overalll pleased but the broken pole has finished us for future adventures with this otherwise good tent.

My new “Boat Tent”
So far, so good. I’m sure what I’ve done was not what you all planned for this tent, but you might be interested. I wanted to go “boat camping” with my 16’ fishing boat. I’ve modified your tent to fit over the boat’s main cockpit area. I cut away the floor and inverted the flaps of the floor to snap to the boat’s side decks. I extended the rain fly by about 30” to extend over the boat’s windshield to divert any rain water foreword. I’ll sleep on the floor of the boat on an air mattress. It won’t be mosquito proof, but will hopefully keep the rain off, especially at night. I can send you a photo but I don’t see a way to do it with this review.

Good, sturdy tent
I had borrow this tent from a friend and decided to buy one of my own. Sturdy and easy to set up. My favorite part is that it fits two people with plenty of room for backpacks and gear. Haven't used in rain.

Good quality and good value
Used a couple of times. Happy with this tent so far. Easy set up and breakdown. Used in high winds and heavy rain and was impressed with how well it performed. Would recommend a trap underlayment for extra floor protection. Listed as a 2 person tent. You will be crowded. I slept in it by myself and store a bin with my gear in it and it works perfectly. 2 people may be a bit cramped.
