When Cervelo made the decision to revive the Soloist after a 15-year hiatus, they set out to design a race bike that was both light and aerodynamic for the amateur racer. Utilizing a lightweight carbon layup, handling geometry taken directly from the R5, and aerodynamic elements from the S5, Cervelo created a Soloist that is no longer only attainable for the pros. This bike is built to withstand the abuse that only an entire season of racing and training can provide and be easy for us to maintain without the luxury of a team of professional mechanics. Internal cable routing runs under the stem instead of through it to make last-minute position changes a painless process, plus it cleans up the cockpit to make the bike more aerodynamic. Room for 34mm tires makes settling for narrow tires a thing of the past.
The Cervelo Soloist 105 build is the most affordable soloist offered and comes with the time-tested Shimano 105 groupset. Trickle-down technology from the Ultegra and Dura-Ace groupsets makes for an ultra-reliable drivetrain that doesn’t cut into our entry-fee budget when repairs need to happen. A 52/36t crankset is paired with an 11-speed 11-30t cassette to help us keep up with the paceline and inspire us to push the pace a little sometimes. 105 hydraulic disc brakes make sure that we can stop on a dime if the pack gets tight too. A set of Alexrims Boondocks 5 wheels paired with 28mm Zaffiro Pro V G2.0 helps us keep the rubber side down in all sorts of racing conditions. The Cervelo Soloist 105 road bike craves speed and handles like a pro, but at a privateer price point.

Love this bike. I bought it as a back up / everyday ride as I already have a Colnago. Bike is fast, reasonably light, and easily upgraded. Stock wheels replaced as they really are gravel oriented (but spec'ing keeps price low. I do wish the crank was 105 rather than a lower level. I have since upgraded it. Great bike at great price, and serves the intended purpose.......admiraby!
