Yoga Mats

For kneeling poses and restorative work, thicker mats reduce pressure on knees and hips; a 5/16 inch extra-thick mat like the Jade Fusion offers plush cushioning for sensitive joints. Extra-thick or mats labeled for restorative yoga and pilates provide the padding you want without sacrificing stability.

Rough-textured surfaces and moisture-wicking materials perform best in hot, sweaty classes because they channel sweat and maintain traction. Natural rubber and cork both offer high wet grip, while microfiber tops help absorb moisture for added slip resistance.

Yes — travel mats are ultrathin and ultralight so they fold or roll into a packable shape; the Jade Voyager, for example, is 1/16 inch thick, weighs about 1.5 lbs, and measures 68 inches for easy portability. They trade some cushioning for convenience, so they work best if you prioritize weight and packability over plush support.

If you’re taller than average, consider extra-long mats up to 80 inches so your head and feet stay on the mat, and broader users can benefit from extra-wide options around 28 inches instead of the standard 24. These larger sizes give more room for full-range poses and reduce edge interference during flows.

Natural rubber — sourced from tree sap — delivers excellent grip and good durability while being more eco-friendly than PVC, and cork provides a textured, wear-resistant surface with natural anti-microbial properties. TPE offers a lighter, often recyclable option with decent cushioning; a 6mm TPE mat hits a good middle ground for comfort and environmental considerations.
