Women's Yellow Synthetic Insulation Jackets

A rule of thumb is to choose lighter 180g fills for above‑freezing, high‑output days and thicker 300g options when you expect sub‑freezing temps. Quilted 180g styles work well for running or aerobic hikes, while 300g or comparable g/m² pieces are better for stationary cold-weather use.

Synthetic fills retain warmth when wet and tend to dry faster than down, so they’re a safer pick for damp winter hiking or camping. Many use polyester or recycled fills like Primaloft Silver that resist clumping and are machine washable for quicker turnaround between trips.

When sizing, consider whether you’ll layer under the jacket—a roomier cut gives space for insulated midlayers while a slimmer profile suits solo wear. Features like stretch side panels, adjustable hoods, drawcord hems, and body‑mapped geometry help maintain mobility and comfort across sizes XS to XXL.

Breathable hybrids with knit panels and underarm vents perform best for stop‑and‑go pursuits like backcountry skiing or winter running. Models such as the Arc'teryx Atom pair stretchy side panels with lightweight synthetic fill to manage warmth without trapping excess heat.

Yes. Many packable puffies compress small—some jackets weigh around 10.5 oz in a size S—and stash easily in a daypack or suitcase. Look for Pertex shells, a DWR finish, and insulated zippers for travel durability; the Patagonia Radalie Insulated Jacket is an example with neck protection and a DWR treatment.
