Women's Yellow Performance Jackets

Insulated jackets with synthetic or down fill are best for cold-weather activities like skiing or static use because they deliver warmth without bulk. Softshells offer breathable stretch for active pursuits like trail running, and waterproof hardshells such as the On Women's Performance Jacket with On GuardTec are ideal for wet, windy conditions.

A lightweight running or workout jacket with stretch fabrics and a water-repellent finish works well for high-output efforts. Models like the On Women's Performance Jacket have elasticated hoods and waterproof On GuardTec, while 4-way stretch polyester blends keep your arms moving without restriction.

Aim for a tailored, next-to-skin cut that still allows a midlayer underneath since women's geometry accounts for curves, shoulders, and arm length to prevent restriction. Look for articulated sleeves, adjustable hoods, cuffs, and hems, plus stretchy fabrics like 4-way stretch polyester/spandex for unrestricted movement.

Yes—many performance jackets use recycled post-consumer polyester insulation and offer PFAS-free water-repellent coatings to reduce environmental impact. The ASICS Women's Performance Insulated Jacket 2.0, for example, uses recycled polyester fill in box quilting while some hardshells include PFAS-free finishes.

Insulated jackets vary from highly compressible down to mid-weight synthetic fills; mid-weight fill and box quilting provide efficient warmth without excessive bulk. Several designs compress into stuff sacks for easy stowage on hikes or in a ski pack, and recycled synthetic insulation helps items dry faster in damp conditions.
