Match the cleat system to your shoes: SPD-SL (Shimano/Look) and Speedplay are the two common standards in tri/TT pedals. SPD-SL pairs naturally with most Shimano road shoes, while Speedplay requires its specific cleats and gives extra float and a double-sided entry for quick engagement.
