Toddler & Infant Purple Ski Clothing

Start with a moisture-wicking base layer in polypropylene or merino—Hot Chillys youth base layers are a good example—then add an insulating fleece mid-layer for below-freezing resort conditions. Finish with a waterproof shell to block snow and wind, leaving room to add or remove layers as activity and temperature change.

Size jackets with a bit of extra room and look for longer cuts that cover the hips and upper legs to prevent gaps when bending or sitting. Bibs or salopettes with shoulder straps and adjustable closures also help secure fit during movement, and some brands offer grow-up systems to extend length as kids grow.

A 10,000mm (or higher) waterproof rating matters for keeping snow and wetness out during long slope days, and breathability above 10,000 g/m2/24hr helps prevent overheating from active play. Also check for features like sealed seams and snow locks at cuffs and waist to keep powder from getting inside.

For toddlers under 5 who tumble a lot, one-piece snowsuits offer full-coverage protection and reduce snow entry around the waist and back. Bibs and pants with reinforced padding, like the Helly Hansen bibs, provide durability and easier diaper changes, while insulated jackets such as Reima models add warmth and snow locks for added protection.

Look for waterproof mittens with hand-warming inserts and four-way stretch fabrics for mobility; these features help keep fingers warm while still allowing movement. Wide cuffs or gauntlets that overlap jacket sleeves plus pull-tabs make mittens easier to put on and keep snow out.
