Toddler Girls' Green Baselayer Sets

For snowy or variable conditions, merino wool is a top pick because it regulates temperature and resists odor—Ik'splorer offers 100% merino with handmitts and foot coverage for extra protection. If you want easier care and faster drying, a synthetic or polyester blend will still insulate while wicking moisture.

Lightweight synthetic or cotton-blend sets work well for high-activity days like skiing or playground play because they prioritize breathability and moisture-wicking. Many REI lightweight synthetics include thumb loops and flat-lock seams to keep sleeves in place and reduce chafing during movement.

Aim for a snug, second-skin fit that’s not constrictive so moisture wicks efficiently while your child can move freely; sizes commonly run from 12 months to 5T or XXS–XXL. Check each brand’s geometry—some Lands' End pieces are more relaxed while others are form-fitting—so you can pick a size that accommodates growth without sacrificing wicking.

Onesie and footed designs provide fuller coverage for snow and sun exposure, and some merino Ik'splorer sets add handmitts and foot coverage for extra protection. If UPF is a priority, look for synthetic options with a UPF 50 rating—Lands' End offers UPF-treated synthetics that shield skin from sun while still wicking.

Synthetic baselayers are generally the most durable for rough play and often tolerate repeated washing better than delicate fibers; some synthetics are rated to last up to 30 washes. Blends like 90% polyester/10% elastane (used by Lands' End) dry quickly and keep their wicking and fit longer, and many pieces also include antimicrobial finishes to stay fresher between washes.
