Yellow Telemark Binding Accessories

If you plan on lightweight backcountry or classic telemark use, 75mm three-pin bindings with metal pins and a locking bail keep things simple and pair well with leather or plastic boots. For inbounds downhill power and edge control, choose an NTN full-frame model like the Rottefella NTN Freeride, which offers medium 30-degree pivot resistance for resort performance.

Match the binding to the sole: 75mm needs a 75mm-wide toe box with three-pin holes, whereas NTN requires dedicated NTN-style soles. Tech pin systems such as TTS or 2-pin designs need tech-compatible boots or tech-fitted versions with inserts to engage the wings or cartridges properly.

Higher ROM suits long skinning days — a free-pivot 55-degree+ setup gives minimal resistance for uphill efficiency and deep powder touring. If you want firmer downhill control for resort laps, medium 30-degree ROM like many NTN freeride setups provides a balance of power transmission and edge control.

Hybrid bindings like Bishop's BMF series let you swap toe pieces between 75mm and NTN, so a single binding can accept classic three-pin boots or modern NTN soles. That flexibility is helpful if you own both leather 75mm boots and newer NTN boots and want to switch modes without buying two separate systems.

Cable routing underfoot or side-mounted changes heel lift tension and how the ski flexes through turns, with underfoot routing often altering flex engagement more directly. Optional heel assemblies or cables add spring tension to 75mm setups, while metal pins and bails keep those bindings simple and durable.
