Kids Green' Gloves

Mittens generally keep toddlers warmer because fingers share heat, which is ideal for very cold or stationary activities like sledding; models such as Reima Ote and Veyo Kids Mittyz focus on insulation and easy on/off for little hands. They sacrifice some dexterity but boost heat retention, so choose mittens when warmth is the priority.

Measure your child’s hand and aim for a snug fit with minimal excess room since oversized gloves lose warmth and undersized ones limit movement. Many synthetic options in nylon or polyester offer a flexible fit, and features like adjustable cuffs or leashes help keep gloves secure as hands grow.

Synthetic materials—nylon, polyester, polyurethane, neoprene, and spandex—provide lightweight durability, water resistance, and breathability, while fleece liners add cozy insulation. For extra wear in high-contact areas, some gloves pair these fabrics with goatskin or leather inserts to extend lifespan.

Touchscreen-compatible fingertips on the index finger and thumb let kids operate devices without removing gloves, and many insulated gloves include this feature for convenience. Some everyday options like the North Face Osito glove combine touchscreen capability with insulation and waterproofing for winter play.

Yes—glove leashes are handy for preventing loss when children take gloves off frequently, and built-in warmer pockets deliver extra heat during very cold conditions. These practical features are often paired with appropriate insulation levels so mittens and gloves stay effective during sledding or extended outdoor sitting.
