Chews

Honey-based chews like Honey Stinger work well for long efforts because organic honey and quick-digesting carbs provide steady energy, and a Honey Stinger serving delivers about 160 calories plus electrolyte support. Their durable pouches and compact 12-pack or 18-pack options make them easy to stash in a jersey pocket.

Yes, select flavors such as Lime-Ade or Coca-Cola include caffeine for an extra lift during hard efforts, but the exact amount varies by flavor. Try caffeinated chews in training to learn how your body reacts before using them in a race.

Think about how many hours you’ll be out and how often you grab carbs; a 12-pack often covers a typical day ride while an 18-pack suits longer outings or group rides. For high-volume packing the Clif Bloks 18-Pack is handy, while Honey Stinger’s 12-pack emphasizes organic honey for sustained release.

Many athletes find honey-based chews digest more smoothly because ingredients like organic honey and tapioca syrup provide quick but steady carbs instead of pure cane sugar alone. Honey Stinger highlights organic, honey-forward recipes for sustained release, which can feel gentler on long rides.

Citrus flavors like Lime-Ade are refreshing on hot rides, while bold tastes such as Coca-Cola or Fruit Smoothie with Cherry can be satisfying on long, sweaty efforts. Skratch Labs chews use real-fruit ingredients for a cleaner taste, and packing a variety keeps flavor fatigue at bay.
