Black Boat & Board Car Rack Accessories

Start by measuring your tower's tubing diameter and match it to the rack clamps, since most clamps fit 1.5 to 2.5 inches and adjustment slots compensate for curved tower angles. Models like Wet Sounds use padded forks and quick-release clamps that work well in low-clearance setups while protecting boards.

Check your vehicle's roof load limit and compare it to the kayak and rack combined; many factory racks are rated around 70 pounds while heavier systems support much more. Also confirm crossbar compatibility with universal adapters, choose roller-equipped Yakima hull racks for easier loading, and secure boats with 12-foot cam straps.

Choose a surfboard rack with integrated straps, D-rings, and locks to keep boards secure during high-speed beach runs. FCS surf racks with D-ring one-hand buckles and rustproof hardware are designed for that kind of travel.

Soft strap systems clamp boards to foam or padded saddles so setup is quick and gentle on boards during short drives. BOTE Quick Strap racks come with soft straps sized for two paddleboards up to 32 inches wide and work well with basic bow and stern lines.

Anodized aluminum and stainless steel clamps offer superior resistance to saltwater corrosion and rust, and foam or padded saddles protect hulls from abrasion. Reinforced steel cables in straps and durable nylon cam straps provide strong, long-lasting security for marine use.
