Why We Like The Castelli Sorpasso RoS Bib Tight
When winter blows in, we bypass the indoor trainer and pull on the Sorpasso RoS Bib Tight for long hours in wet, cold conditions. Built with Castelli's fleecy nanotech fabric, this cozy pair repels water yet remains highly breathable, while the reinforced thighs and upper front offer extra wind protection and warmth where we need it most. As the miles get longer, the perforated, seamless chamois keeps us comfortable in the saddle.

Super Comfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Got these to replace my 10 year old Specialized tights. These are very flexible and incredibly comfortable all around (legs, shoulder straps, chamois). I sized up based on online reviews, and I am glad I did. I'm 6'-0" and weigh 168, and XL was perfect. I think the temperature range seems about right. Definitely not for deep winter rides, but great for 35-50 degrees.

Warm and Comfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I had been using my running tights over my bibs for the past few years not wanting to spend the money on a bib/tight. Should have bought these a long time ago. They are so much more comfortable then the running tights (they always are falling down). This are also much warmer then a regular tight and the chamois is very comfortable. The straps are a bit tight ( think I bought the wrong size) but they don't dig in or anything and I have already down a 3 hour ride and they feel amazing. I bought the Large and probably should have gone for XL 5" 10' 175lbs 32 inch waist 32 inch inseam 42 inch chest

What winter?
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Granted, it does not get freezing in coastal Texas, but 30s-40s after 100+ temps all summer feel pretty chilly. In these temps, these do great. Riding through mist and drizzling rain, I have remained completely dry from the DWR coating. The water just beads up on the surface. No heavy downpours yet, so can't comment on that. Warmth is enough that starting out at 36F was no issue and after warming up to 52F the tights were not roasting me. I do miss the pockets of my Unlimited bibs, but for what these are, they are comfortable, and the chamois is good. The zippered legs making donning and doffing easy as can be. Sizing - I ride a L in the Unlimited Bib, but ordered an XL for these tights (6'0", 184lbs, 34" waist, 32: inseam) and that size is perfect.

Too short
Castelli sizing is now a joke. I am 6’ tall, with a 32” inseam. I have always worn Castelli Bibshorts and Bibtights in size XL without a problem. These tights are supposed to be for a 33.8” inseam, but only seem to be made for a 28” inseam!

High Quality but run very small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
These bibs are of the highest quality but they run very small in comparison to their other clothing. Return was simple and easy and Competitive Cyclist sent next day air at no charge. Great customer service and very happy overall with their products and service. Reason why I gave them five stars. The product quality was top notch and I'm looking forward to wearing and staying warm in these bibs. Amazing quality !

Why?
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
The chamois in these is by far my favorite ever. I'm trying to only wear this chamois so I ordered these bib tights not in any way suspecting that they're not really made for the cold, but they're not. Hard to envision why this product even exists. These are really thin with just a whisper of fleece on the inside. In NorCal we're riding 33 to 43 in the mornings right now. I would say these are good from like 48 to 52 for which I have many options. Again, what's the point of these? I always want to like Castelli but it's like they have a team of designers who make a product and they're not allowed to talk with each other through the process. I own Castelli bibs that are size small, they're a bit small (straps too tight and tight in the waist and groin), but I can't even shimmy into these bib tights in a small. Regular bibs in medium won't stay down on my legs. It's like they can't resists over-designing things or just taking on points of use/benefit with total nonsense. I own the bib shorts that go under MTB shorts and the storage pockets (3 of them) are about big enough for tube of lipstick. Why? I would like to use those pockets. Please Castelli, just do things that make sense and are easy to use, and conform to your sizing charts.

Great Product!
- Familiarity:

I've been riding 25 plus years, and I've purchased bib tights from all of them. What differentiates these bib tights are two things: -The chamois is excellent. I've never seen one like this before. A lot of work went into the design and it's clearly unique. You could ride all day in these and not even feel the slightest bit uncomfortable. -I'm not sure about the inner fleece, but what it does do is keep your legs warm. I've been out in windy mid-30's weather. You might feel it at first, but it warms up nicely and quickly into the ride, so you don't feel the bite of the cold even on the descents. Because of the form fit, it does run a little small. So, I recommend that whatever size you normally use, get the next one up. Overall, the workmanship is just excellent. I'll take these over the pricier ones that are out in the market right now. Juan A

Great tights

Went up a size like most recommend. I'm 5'9", 170, 32-33" waist and went with a large and the fit is pretty perfect. They definitely start a little tight and stretch a little as you ride. The zippers at the bottom are nice. The chamois is second to none, I only buy Castelli with the Progetto chamois, amazing comfort without any bunching or diaper feel. My only knock on these is that they weren't as warm as I hoped, but once you get going and build up body heat you kind of forget about it. That's also probably because I usually layer tights on top of bib shorts, rather than wear a one piece approach like these. 4 stars because I wish they were a little warmer, otherwise perfect.

I?m 5?10, 165 lbs and I got the XL. Great fit. I wear L size castelli shorts and L size castelli jerseys. Very comfortable. Warm to about 6c. I?m from SE Michigan USA and just went out in them for an hour on some gravel roads. Happy customer. Just wish they were a bit warmer as I felt a bit colder than I?d like. Update: Took them out for 20 miles today. 0c, wet roads (snow melt). Just not up to the job. Got cold around the privates and legs. Reached out to Backcountry and have exchanged them. I think these tights would be good in cool or spring like conditions but not in winter. Great fit and very nice piece of kit. Would re-buy in March!
