Alpha RoS 2 Light Jacket
Once you’ve celebrated defying winter’s punishment, you’ll need a lightweight shell that protects from irritating transitional weather as you roll towards summer. The Castelli Alpha RoS 2 Light Jacket fills that role with honor and inherits all the winning qualities of the Alpha RoS 2, but in a more breathable design. GORE-TEX on the front and sleeves shields your torso from misty rain and chilled wind, while the lighter insulating layer of the RoS 2 Light manages to keep you comfortable in on hard-hitting training rides as body-heat builds. Nano Flex Xtra Dry on the back adds a thin barrier that repels rain while promoting additional heat loss and sweat evaporation.
The extremely versatile shell begs to be so much more as the three rear pockets provide ample room for valuables and snacks. The semi-fitting cut allows room for your favorite baselayer or training jersey without a sacrificing range of motion or freedom.
- A transitional weather, performance jacket for dedicated riders

Love this jacket, runs small!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- 3XL

- Weight

I just bought this jacket and I absolutely love it. I’m not a big guy, 220lbs, 5’10’”, waist 34, chest 48”, but for a cyclist wearing Castelli, my size is always 3XL. If you’re in doubt order a size up. After one ride in 40 degree weather, the jacket kept me warm for about an hour of riding. Haven’t tested the wind or rain protection, but I trust it’ll keep me warm and dry during spring showers. I highly recommend this jacket if you’re looking for a go-to cycling jacket.

New go-to jacket

Provides nice warmth and wind protection. With just a long sleeve base layer I find it comfortable from mid 40s to mid 50s. Once temp goes above 55 and in sunnier conditions I did start to get a bit warm, but I still didn't overheat or sweat profusely. It's my new favorite piece of kit for these conditions. I haven't tried it at 40 or below but I would probably opt for something warmer, or bulkier/additional base layer. As for the sizing, yes it fits a bit small but that's how I prefer it. I'm tall and slender and the large gives a nice snug fit around the chest and waist without being restrictive. And still leaves room for a long sleeve base layer. The sleeves are plenty long enough to cover my wrists and stay in place under the cuffs of my gloves.
