    Power the Adventure.

You can rest when the vacation's over. So, rather than sleeping in, get up and grab your trekking poles, snacks, and the Camelbak Crux Water Reservoir, so you can get to the trailhead before the parking lot fills up. A baffled design keeps the reservoir's profile low, so you don't have to pull everything out of your pack to slip the reservoir inside. Fits my women's CamelBak Aurora 5L

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got the 2L bag for my CamelBak Aurora 5L Backpack and it fits great. Haven't ran with it yet but its good to go. I made sure to clean it out to get the plastic taste out before using it. I recommend this for any CamelBak hydration backpack bag. I don't think they are as universal for all backpacks as Platypus bags but still great!

    Great!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased the 3L. This is a great size for an all day hike. It has a divider within the bladder which can make drying it out a bit more difficult, but nothing bad enough that it would prevent me from using it.

    Much improved

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like this reservoir much better than the previous generation. The extra flow is nice and the previous generation had a 1/4 turn lid that was prone to leaking. This one should not leak at all. I am very happy with it. The new valve at the bite value is taking some getting used to but that is mostly because I have used the old style for over a decade. The new valve style is good looking and easy to use but different than what I am accustomed too.

    Nice design

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The new handle and large opening make filling and cleaning this reservoir simple while allowing you to get rid of excess air quickly and seal the lid with ease. I was worried about fitting three liters in my smallest hydration pack but this reservoir fit without issue. The lock on the mouth piece helps ensure against leaks and the larger bite valve and wider hose help increase water flow for faster hydration.

    3L of love

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My last bladder was only 2 but emptying my bladder a few times while out climbing pushed me to get a size bigger. The large opening makes cleaning easy. Haven't had any difficulty closing it either.

    Gift for the lady

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

bought this to replace my ladies nasty, dingy, gross old smelly bladder. This thing is the bomb! super easy to fill, doesn't get stinky, and the mouth piece lock makes for drip-free hiking!

    Difficult to close

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like all of the upgrades, such as a wider tube, handle for filling, a different mouth piece and closing mechanism on the mouth piece. One huge difficulty that negates those improvements is that I cannot close it for the life of me. When screwing it close, either the top of the bottom remains unscrewed. I've tried to lay it flat and push the lid, but then all of the water comes out. I've cleaned it and tried all kinds of different methods but can very, very rarely get it closed. The old design screwed close once you lined up two dots, which was annoying, but spending twenty minutes trying to close this new one and subsequently giving up is more annoying. Most of the time I just give up and don't use it. Pretty disappointed and wish I had the old design simply so I could close it and use it.

    Fits Perfectly In My Backpack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I originally thought that I had ordered the 2L Reservoir to replace an older one, when it arrived, I was kind of disappointed. Instead of returning it, I decided to try it in a few of my hiking backpacks. It fits perfectly and allows me to carry more water on my hiking trips. What was originally a mistake, worked out even better in the end! Definitely recommend in a Cotopaxi backpack or Osprey!

    Always Improving

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wanted to give this new bladder a try and I love it. I really like the new bite valve.

The new valve does not leak at all but allows plenty of water to come out when you need it. I also really like how wide the the top is. It's really easy to get ice into the bladder.

New Crux: Great New Valve, Same Ol Taste

At this point, most everyone is familiar with hydration bladders. This newest version of the Crux did improve its ergonomics and bite valve. The valve has increased flow and is especially helpful when the bladder is your sole water source and you need to fill a canteen/flask/cooking pot/whatever. Unfortunately the Crux still has that plastic taste that has existed for years. I was hoping this new version would be different. I didn't want to have to switch brands, but my next bladder will be something different. Everyone wants their water to be refreshing when out on the trail or running your butt off, but I feel like having to swallow this taste makes hydration more of a chore.

      Good as always.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

CamelBak has reigned supreme for awhile now and for good reason. Very easy to use, clean, and attach. Bite valve is smooth and doesn't drip. Doesn't take up a lot of space in the pack and stays cool for hours.

Camelback has done it right again.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Easy to fill, hangs well in my Osprey pack, no drips no leaks, shutoff valve is sure and intuitive, and the bite valve is easy to use and draw from, with great flow. With the handle and large cap it's not as light as some, but neither was it too heavy. I give it two thumbs up.

      Great product!

LOVE. No leakage. Did not run out of water on a 2 hour hard core hike up a cliff in scorching heat. Easy to hold handle to fill up water. Easy to drink spout with close valve if needed. Not enough good things to say about this product!

        Tube Angles Up

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The new handle makes this reservoir much easier to fill without spilling water everywhere, which is super nice.

The drinking tube exits the reservoir angling up towards your head, so be sure your pack has the port at the top, and not routed down to the bottom of the pack and out a side, or your tube may kink.

The bite valve is awesome. Super easy to use and great flow.

A perfect product, in my mind, would open at the top with a flat lock closure, like Salomon, Platypus, and Osprey reservoirs. This makes the bladder easier to clean and dry (just flip it!).

        Sure

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just like my old Camelbak but better. The ergonomic handle makes it a lot less awkward to fill the bladder - if you have above average wrist strength then you should be able to do it one-handed. Still the most convenient way to drink water while you are in motion
