Acro Wide Fit Climbing Shoe
You don't often find yourself utilizing the words, "barn door," mostly on account of your climbing prowess, inherent ability to always zip up your pants, and the intuitive performance of the Butora Wide Fit Acro Climbing Shoe. Built for steep sport climbing, bouldering, and the occasional crack climb, the Acro features an aggressive, down-cambered design that makes it an ideal shoe for technical overhanging climbs while the hybrid upper consists of a soft synthetic and natural leather that ultimately ensures a comfortable and personalized fit. In keeping with the slipper concept, the Acro is outfitted with a triple hook fork and loop strap that encourage convenience combined with functionality and the high-tensioned heel delivers power to the forefront of the foot, namely the front toe, to provide premium edging. And no matter the rock, scenario, or confidence level, the large sticky roe patch assures steadfast and secure toe hooking.

Shoes are great, Backcountry was not
Ordered these to replace the same shoe. Great shoe. Unfortunately Backcountry sent a pair that had peeling rubber along the seams that I did not notice until I wore them the first time which was about a month after receiving them and thus did not qualify for a return even though I was sent a messed up pair. I should have looked closer as they didn't arrive in the original Butora shoe box, rather a generic Backcounty/competitive cyclist one which I'm assuming meant someone else had already returned them... Attempting to follow up with Butora as Backcountry said they don't handle the warrantees.

Not sure why there aren’t more reviews, I’m on my 4-5th pair and want to add my two cents. The rubber is some of the softest I’ve had in climbing shoes which makes it comfy to wear longer and also helps with smearing and jamming which would otherwise be difficult in downturned shoes. The softness makes them harder to use outside where feet tend to be smaller and I want the pushing power I get with harder rubber. I downsize my outside shoes (Scarpa Boostic), but these shoes are true to my street shoe size of 11.5-12.

Very Useful but Often Painful

I've been meaning to talk to some people about this, and I'm fairly new to the aggressive style climbing shoes, but after trying on several sizes of the Wide fit Butora Acros, I decided to buy a size 9, and I wear an 8.5 street shoe. My previous pair of shoes were La Sportiva Tarantulaces that are size 8.5 and they fit quite comfortably with a little room in them. My Acros fit really snug to my foot which is nice, but even at a half size up, they still squeeze my big toes on both feet quite a bit, and I often find them painful to wear and have to take my heel out after every climb. And if I'm stuck on a lead or top rope route, then I just have to endure the pain until I'm finished. I don't know if I still need to break them in more, or if this is what aggressive shoes are like, but I see people going sizes down from their street shoe and I'm wondering why even at a bigger size my feet are in so much pain.
